Worried about my ultrasound and lft reports with some symptoms!

I recently had my blood work done randomly as I decided to quit alcohol after 10 years of heavy drinking and got abnormal levels in the lft so went to see a gastroenterologist. My ast is 50, alt is 61.5, ggtp is normal.

Bilirubin total is 2.4, albumin is also normal along with the kft and lipid profile.

Doctor asked me to get some further tests done and an ultrasound.

The ultrasound said 'mild acute hepatitis'.

The doctor has said not to worry much and asked me to cut back on fried food and drinks! given me meds for two months and asked to come back again with the lft test done in two months.

Symptoms-

I have mild fever 99, and noticed a slight decrease in libido over the last year with substantial weight loss over the years. some light yellowing of the whites of the eyes (which the doc said I'm worrying unnecessarily about). Some red spots on my legs occasionally and one small little spider like shape red line on my pinky, very small have to really look for it!

I'm a little worried,

Should I get a second opinion?

Please advice!

have you tested positive for Hep A or B? Also meds can cause acute hepatitis or a hepatitis like injury.

I've tested negative for both hep A and B. Haven't been taking any meds previously!I was a heavy drinker though (upto last month) :/

Thanks for your reply 😊

probably a little alcohol hepatitis then. Good luck sounds like you know what you need to do

I’d listen to your doctor. Stop the booze and eat well and see what it does to your LFTs. It’s the treatment for ARLD so whatever stage it’s at this will be the advice. Just follow it and I suspect everything will come back into normal range.
