Stimulants during school breaks/summer?
Hi everyone, My son recently started on Focalin, which he takes in the mornings; he also takes Guanfacine in the evenings. He's just started his spring break. Since he's out of school, I thought I might give him a break from Focalin, which can give him late-afternoon mood swings. On the other hand

National Shortage
Sorry if this has already been posted, but I am wondering how everyone is handling the shortage? I first heard that it was adderall and my son wasn't being affected because he takes Focalin xr. Last time refill they could only give me 20 instead of 30. I called right now to possibly up my sons dose

daughter can’t stand chewing sounds
Hi Everyone! My 12 year old started expressing her irritation with the sound of others chewing food around a year ago. She can eat dinner with the family but at certain times and if the house is especially quiet, she can’t stand the sound. She says sometimes she has to move away from her loud chewing

spasms
I have been having very severe spasm and pain in both of my legs the past two nights, the worst I have experienced to date. I am on muscle relaxants and tramadol for pain and carbidopa/levodopa for Pakinson like symptoms, none of which helped 2 nights ago and I ended up falling hitting my back and

Experience with Straterra
My 8 year old has been prescribed the non stimulant Straterra for his extreme lack focus and mild hyperactivity. We decided to go this route due to him already being in the 9th percentile for weight. From what his dr told me and what I’ve read, it takes a couple weeks to build up and for some people

Focalin ER/ Dexmethylphenidate induced tics
Hello everyone and Happy New year, This post is regarding my six year old son who was prescribed Focalin ER generic brand for his ADHD. I was unaware at that time what tics looks like until it became severe. His severity extended to hitting himself to relieve his tics. I am worried as it’s been

10 year old refuses ADHD diagnosis and medication
Hi all! My 10 year old daughter was diagnosed with inattentive ADHD over the summer. She had a hard time initially dealing with the diagnosis, then came around a bit and was taking Focalin XR. We saw a lot of improvements in attention and executive function, especially in school . After the holiday

Focalin
My 11 year old son has been on combo medicine (clonidine & Focalin). He’s been on this combo for a year and Focalin for 3 years (only takes Focalin during school days). He is expressing that it makes him feel angry lately. Could be the crash. Does anyone else kids report this anger feeling from meds

Breathing and shortness of breath - 15 year old on ADHD stimulant
HI My son is complaining of shortness of breath/shallow breathing after starting stimulant meds for ADHD. They work well to help him focus so he does not want to stop, but I was wondering if anyone had experienced breathing issues. He takes 15mg of Focalin. Thanks

Hi, I'm here for my 10yr old grandson. He was 48" tall and 48 lbs almost 2 years ago. He Looks more like 7 yrs old. He has been taking concerta for the last 3 years until about 2 months ago. It's good for him, but he will not grow and will not eat. Plus, it makes him have horrible constipation

Tics with Metadate CD
Just curious if anyone else’s child has experienced tics with Metadate CD. My son initially started taking Metadate CD last year and we noticed a tic that started where he shoves his fingers in his butt. Over time it subsided some and wasn’t as frequent. Now three weeks ago they replaced his afternoon

Medication for impulse and regulating emotions
Hi I recently posted about starting my son back up on meds. We had my son revaluated and his pediatrician put him on Concerta even though we tried it years ago and said focalin seemed to work best for him. Not surprised but the Concerta did not work and just made him more sensitive than anything.

Decision to medicate
Hi, I wanted to share my experience for anyone out there who might be on the fence about medicating. I am not a doctor or an expert. I’m just sharing my personal experience. My son was diagnosed with severe ADHD, anxiety and OCD. They also recommended further testing for Autism spectrum disorder.

Is it possible that side effects from Focalin are negating the effects of Clonazepam?
I am prescribed Focalin and Clonazepam(Seizures & Anxiety). The Clonazepam has worked wonders for my sleep habits and I admit that it does help calm me down in the afternoon. The issue is that I am extremely irritable throughout the day even when taking the Clonazepam. I started keeping a journal and
