IMRT appeal denied for a SECOND time - case closed now
Update from my previous post - the patient appeal I did for my dad with the 4 page letter and 28 pages of his medical records plus the letter of medical necessity has gone before the Florida Blue Cross medical board where IMRT has been denied for a second and final time today. First appeal denied. Peer

Insurance denied IMRT!
Has anyone ever been denied IMRT by insurance?! It has now been several weeks since we found out my dad’s tumor pressing on his heart is no longer stable and is slowly enlarging. So far from 4.2 to 4.9 cm but that was several weeks ago and could be changed by now. He has a 5 inch blood clot because

As I had to wait 4 months for an appt with my consultant, I was given an inhaler called
Clenil
Modulite
which is absolutely brilliant when sprayed directly on ulcers (anywhere on body but I used mainly for mouth and vagina) it gets rid of them within a day or so.

Dizziness after stopping Clenil (brown inhaler) after 1 week of use..
Doctor put me on
Clenil
Modulite
100 (2 puffs twice a day) for breathing issues and it immidiately made my breathing worse. I carried on for exactly 7 days before deciding to stop completely. About 3 days after stopping I started feeling tired and lightheaded.

Stopping Brown Inhaler
I have always queried my asthma diagnosis so after discussion with my GP I am stopping my ICS (
Clenil
Modulite
) I did enquire with him about FENO testing but it's not available yet. I am a week in and no problems peak flow remains around 500 and actually less phlegmy than last week.

Radiation dilemma! IMRT vs Proton
Hi, I have another radiation question if anyone has any opinions or help that would be greatly appreciated! The mapping is complete now for my dad and the tumor next to his heart causing the SVC syndrome. The verdict came back that on paper it shows IMRT would be slightly less radiation to the heart

Curious about this treatment option. Appreciate your comments/experiences about this radiation approach.

Proton therapy
With the help of several people on here (you all are great!!) I urged my dad to push for proton therapy over the IMRT that was suggested for chest tumor. We did last week and tomorrow he is set to begin mapping for proton therapy to the chest tumor (4.9 cm) by his heart! I anticipated this would move

Metastatic Lymph Node, Recurrent PCa
Recently did the 18F PSMA1 007 PET/CT scan as result of rising PSA after prostatectomy in April 2016. PSA at 0.91 now and doubling every 5 months. Scan showed one small 4 mm avid right internal iliac lymph node that favors metastatic. Consultations with 3 urologists, 3 radiation oncologists all have

Adding radiation to chemo or not?
Hi everyone, I’m hoping someone could offer some insight or even their own thoughts into my dad’s latest dilemma as I think it’s possibly a rare situation. You all have been so helpful in previous posts, thank you so much! I couldn’t do this alongside my dad without this forum. I can’t find much info

Treatment update
I’ve been posting here for about six months, but I am always uncomfortable about posting personal updates. I wonder whether I am bragging, whining, boring people or some combination of the above. Regardless, I enjoy reading the experiences of others, both positive and negative. I personally think

F18 PSMA-1007 PET/CT Scan - Result
I previously posted about this scan and wondered about it's value. I had a rising PSA after robotic prostatectomy in April 2016 with a Gleason 4+3+T5 & pT2C, clear margins, appeared organ confined. PSA climbed continuously since the procedure with current PSA of 0.87 with doubling time of 5 months.

Clenil modulite difference between breathing in the 50 and 100 in toddler
Hi there please does anyone know or had this when their toddler inhales the 50 dose it makes them cough more than the 100. I’ve tried it and can notice how harsh it is and I’m asthmatic so take the 100 dose daily. Thank you
