Hi all. Been a bit quiet recently as I have had some issues. I had what I thought was heartburn a couple of weeks ago along with shortness of breath. After tests anECG and chest x-ray it is probable that I had a silent heart attack. Being monitored by the hospital. I have been exhausted recently so had

Seven years ago, I had a quintuple bypass and a heart valve reconstruction. I am on atorvastatin atenolol lisinopril tamsulosin finasteride. My lab work of these years has been kept in the green for the most part. I’ve been hearing a lot lately about how statins have side effects, and how cholesterol

Dobutamine stress test
I've just received a letter with an appointment for a dobutamine stress test. No explanation why and I still haven't had results from my 24hr monitor and CT angiograms done two months ago. My consultant appointment was cancelled and I'm still waiting for a new one. My echocardiagram was normal. I'm a

Got into a state as heart rate was fluctuating between 58 and 78 last night while at rest. I am very sensitive to any changes in my heartbeat and am an anxious person about my heart. I was diagnosed back in March with paroxysmal A/F and started Bisoprolol and Apixaban. I have had echocardiogram which

Apple Watch
Curious to hear from anyone using an Apple Watch ECG app to monitor afib. On mine I can get a reading saying afib and then immediately measure again and get sinus. I recently started taking Dofetilide, so maybe the medication is helping to resolve afib episodes. Any thoughts on how accurate Apple Watch

AV Node Ablation and Pacemaker
Hi lovely people, I promised I’d get back to you after seeing a cardiologist/electrophysiologist privately. As you might guess from the title, this is what he believes will solve my problem. I will still be in persistent Afib, but won’t feel it. In the meantime he has doubled my digoxin dose and I will

Arrhythmia and Afib are they the same ?
my cardiologist tells me i have severe arrhythmia and will need to take anti coagulants indefinitely; i also had my pprolapsed mitral valve replaced 3 years ago, whether one or other of these conditions existed first is not known. Other than warfarin I take Ezetrol to lower cholesterol. I have no idea

Karol looks so well you wouldn’t know he was ill looking at him. Does anyone else feel like I do angry that I am losing

Respite Care Tips Please
Hi, my mum has CBD and has two carers four times per day currently. She cannot walk unaided, use the toilet unaided (difficult even with help) and although she can chew and swallow ok at the moment, she needs to be fed as she doesn’t have the coordination to eat herself. Hi everyone, Late yesterday morning I had a surprise phone call from my preferred Pharmacy down here at the pointy end of Cornwall. Boots. Well, a surprise for me. So I thought I'd just share this with you all although it really only has relevance to those of you in Britain. Following discussions

I have managed my Atrial Fibrillation since being diagnosed in 2017, but the last month I have had problems with low heart rate 31-40 & then A/F lasting for over 24hours at a time . Cardiologist suggested medication Disopyramide 250mgs twice a day has anyone used this ? He said if this doesn’t work

CBD...does it help? should it be avoided with Pred?
I seem to remember early on in the PMR journey that CBD was advised against, but the night pains are worse and have run out of previously useful sleep remedies ! any advice on CBD and possible PRED reaction and as useful for PMR pains and sleep issues? thanks

Chronic flank pain and atrophy...
I ordered my own labs for three months in a row to take to a nephrologist, and seeing the consistently 60's egfr and other labs, plus the physical damage, he diagnosed Stage 2
CKD
. I was told to just stop taking ibuprofen and change my diet. That's it.
