NEWS! Scientists develop nanoparticles that can cross the blood-brain barrier
"The researchers then filled the particles with
cisplatin
, a commonly used chemotherapy drug. When these particles were coated with the targeting peptide, they were able to effectively kill glioblastoma tumour cells in the tissue model."

Acute bowel issues -diet.
After a mostly successful chemo set with
cisplatin
and taxol finished in Feb, I had a mop up targeted at two spots in my pelvis. Just 5 sessions. Oncologist didn’t expect anything beyond a week or two diarrhea. InsteAd I’ve had awful cramping pain, diarrhea, vomiting, it has gone on an on.

Hi everyone, My wife was treated for extrapulmonary small cell cancer, that presented in the breast, from Dec 2021 until Feb 2022 (4 cycles of
Cisplatin
/Etoposide with concurrent radiotherapy) - she had a good response to the treatment which led to surgery (mastectomy), which confirmed, via pathology

Clinical trial using Enzalutamide and Cisplatin
My oncologist has suggested a clinical trial involving Enzalutamide and
Cisplatin
. Right now I am on Lynparza and my PSA has started to rise. Does anyone have any experience or information on this trial?

Losing my resolve and feeling defeated.
I have had one round of
Cisplatin
/Gemzar and then one week later just Gemzar. The pet scan showed all in my lymph nodes and around omentum and possibly around bowel. CA 125 only 30.

Implications of butyrate and its derivatives for gut health and animal production 2018
Butyrate has also been shown to enhance the effects of anticancer drug therapy including vincristine, celecoxib,
cisplatin
, and etoposide via its HDI activity, increasing the cytotoxicity of the drugs (Ramos et al., 2004, Kang et al., 2012, Maruyama et al., 2012).

Cisplatin and Caelyx treatment.any experience to share please.
I’ve been cancer free for 17 months but the beast returned. I m on the above cocktail for 6 months at one monthly intervals. I was wondering what are most usual side effects. I had the first one on Friday, felt dreadful the first day, then was fine, apart from increase in neuropathy. Thanks for any info

My first treatment is going to be
Cisplatin
and Gem-something for bladder cancer caused by radiation for PC. I know all the side effects but can’t find how long until resistance happens and they stop working. Anyone know? Thanks

Tough decision
gave up on me when my ca125 went up to 1200 from 256 before surgery Second doctor at UCI disagreed and said I should have had more chemo He advised carbo/doxil which the first doc said would be too toxic to my heart My ca125 is now 3000 THIRD OPINION doc at City of Hope recommended 6 to 12 cycles of

How low is too low
I’m due to start jevtava and
cisplatin
this Thursday. Just got my blood work back and my wbc is 3.5 and rbc is 3.48. Now I’m concerned that this will delay my much needed chemo Thursday

The club you never wanted to join: Stage 4 Gleason 9+ at 46
Chemo was etoposide and
cisplatin
. Radiation was the 35 days on the table getting my pelvic radiation. That was the summer of 2016. Then back to Alaska. In less than a year the PSA was on the rise so I started Zytiga.

Nivolumab effective treatment for malignant mesothelioma.
Malignant mesothelioma is an intractable cancer, and no phase III trial has yet shown an improvement in overall survival following the standard first line chemotherapy doublet comprising pemetrexed and
cisplatin
or carboplatin since it was licensed in 2004.

Seeking information & support re Pancoast Tumour.
Had my first cycle of Chemo ( Pemetrexed &
Cisplatin
), and also Immunotherapy ( Pembrolizumab). Is there anyone out there in a similar situation? There seems to be very little info to be found, unless it's just me looking in the wrong places!
