FEELING LET DOWN BY EMPLOYER
Again I have had
cisplatin
and am back in remission. I was again offered a new trial which I started on Monday. During the bouts of remission I have continued to work full time and make up any time I had off for hospital visits.

What percentage of people don't respond to pre op chemo?
I'm now on my first cycle of
Cisplatin
, 5FU and Herceptin and slowly coming to terms with the change in prognosis. All the best. Martin

Any experience of Docetaxol.
I was originally told that my next line of treatment would be Alimta maintenance but apparently the new NICE guidelines does not allow this treatment unless you have previously undergone
Cisplatin
/Alimta, I had
Cisplatin
/Navorabine.

Another Crazy Ruling from NICE
You can now only get the Pemetrexed maintenance if you have been on the
Cisplatin
mix so that means just for the sake of box ticking I am going to have to change my last treatment in order to qualify for the maintenance treatment. How crazy is this!!!

Anyone have any experiene of Kidney damage on chemo?
Butch went in for his 1st chemo (
Cisplatin
& Fluorouracil) last Wed, unfortunately in early hours of Sat morning he experienced breathing problems and chest pains they took him off chemo and through a CT scan ruled out blood clot but found he had an infection, put him on antibiotics.

Bleomycin, etopocide and cisplatin
Hello everyone. I'm new to to this place. I was diagnosed with a very rare (so I was told) germ cell, yolk sac tumour in my left ovary at the end of 2006. My tumour measured 20 cms in diameter and I eventually had 11 litres of ascites fluid drained from my stomach. So much to tell but in brief, I got

Is it good to get a second opinion?
She has been having maintenance on avastin since her chemo finished in august 2012 (gemcitabine/
cisplatin
) but unfortunately she has been having a few tummy pains and a ca125 test has shown it has gone from 72 to 277.

My Journey, as promised!
Unfortunately I had an allergic reaction to carboplating and transferred to
cisplatin
. after 4 cycles I felt sick and exhausted CA125 was still raised and the tumour was not shrinking. It was, however operable. It was removed on Dec 4th 2011.

Not the news I wanted to hear :((
There is the IMPRESS trial looking at whether to completely switch to doublet chemotherapy (carboplaitin/Alimta or
cisplatin
/Alimta) or whether to continue with the Iressa plus the doublet chemo. Evidence is saying keep with both as it is only a % of the cancer cells that have become resistant.

Here I go again on the chemo slide downhill to Christmas
Cisplatin
is the USA standard drug for OC according to my onc. It takes 8 friggin' hours to go in via the port and you have to be rehydrated by drip before AND after so it'll be something like a 10 hour round trip... Naturally I've been put in that group.

Don't despair when relapse occurs!
I was diagnosed in 1999 with 'cystoadencarcinoma' of ovary and had the routine surgery followed by course of
Cisplatin
/Taxol. Within 2 years I had recurrence and from 2001-2011 had 8 courses of carboplatin for recurrences.

My mum's cancer story
She was prescribed etoposide and
cisplatin
. She has been through 5 chemo cycles now and has responded very well. The primary in the lung is down to 3cm and the liver tumours have regressed (as evidenced by improved liver function).
