Dose reduction, advice please?

Hello I was just wondering if anyone has had a dose reduction from Ceritinib? I have been taking it successfully for 2 and a half years on the full dose of 450mg but have always struggled with gastric side effects.

Growth inhibitory effect of doxazosin on prostate and bladder cancer cells. Is the serotonin receptor pathway involved?

Doxazosin, an alpha1-adrenoceptor antagonist, is used for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) and hypertension. Alpha-adrenoceptor antagonists also inhibit growth and induce apoptosis in malignant prostatic cells. The apoptotic activity is independent of their capacity to antagonize

Brain Mets

My lung cancer is well controlled with targeted therapy, Ceritinib but they have just found 3 small tumours in my brain. I’m really frightened as I have read that the average survival with brain mets is 6 months. I’m only 47. Any experience with this would be much appreciated. Thanks x

Not sure if I should be worried?

I am stage 4 ALK+ and have been on Ceritinib for 2 years now which is working well. I have CT scans every 3 months to keep an eye on things and have always been told that my lungs are clear from tumours.

Ceritinib hard capsule discontinued

I just wondered if there is anyone else out there who are now having to take Ceritinib as a film coated tablet? The capsule has been discontinued and initially I was very pleased as the tablet is much smaller than the capsule.

High risk category? Letter received?

I am on targeted therapy Ceritinib which as far as I was aware is one of the protein kinase inhibitors which is on the government’s high risk list. I have had no text or letter advising me to stay home for 12 weeks and am worried that I have slipped through the net somehow.

Targeted therapy working beyond expectations

I am currently taking Ceritinib for stage 4 ALK positive lung cancer,my first 3 month scan showed a big reduction in size and quantity of tumours. My recent 6 month scan shows I have had a complete pathological response to the drug, which makes the dodgy side effects all worth it.

Ceritinib Query

Hi everyone, I’m currently on the 450 mg dose of Ceritinib with food and have been for the last 4 months. I take mine in the morning but do suffer with stomach cramps, diarrhoea and nausea for several hours after.

“Disease Flare” in lung cancer

Hi all 😊 I am still around and check in on you all even if I don’t always post. As a lot of you know, my dad had stage IV NSCLC adenocarcinoma diagnosed 2/28/18, low tumor volume, and was held stable until 9/2018 at which time he went into the hospital on 10/16 and heartbreakingly passed on 11/20/18

Trying to be hopeful

Apparently my cancer has the ALK mutation so I am being prescribed Ceritinib, with a view to buying me more time with my family. I was advised this could amount to a number of years. Does anyone have any experience of taking this drug?

Pemetrexed seems not to work

Ceritinib was amazingly successful but pneumonitis meant we had to stop for now. Carb and Pem with 3 cycles of Pem but new brain secondaries. CT body today and Gamma Knife again as mets are symptomatic.

Vitamin D

Hi All, I've been on Gefitinib for 19 months and been getting rather down of late with what I take to be the numerous side effects. OK, I fully agree it's better than the alternative! My oncologist wondered if I had an underactive thyroid and included a blood test last time I had the usual consultation

Changing from crizotinib to ceritinib

My husband is about to change from crizotinib to ceritinib and I was wondering if anyone else had done this. I would be grateful for any advice on side effects, effectiveness etc of ceritinib and how it compares to crizotinib.
