Not sure if I should be worried?

Hi, I’m hoping for anyone’s thoughts on this matter. I am stage 4 ALK+ and have been on Ceritinib for 2 years now which is working well. I have CT scans every 3 months to keep an eye on things and have always been told that my lungs are clear from tumours.

I spoke to my oncologist today who told me that for my last 3 scans my lungs were showing some inflammation which was news to me! He said that he had been monitoring it and that he didn’t want to worry me. So far the inflammation has stayed about the same with this weeks scan showing that it had reduced.

I know he said don’t worry but it’s really hard not to, he said that if it was the cancer then he would expect to see some growth which there hasn’t been. And they would continue to keep an eye on it with the scans.

Has anyone had a similar situation? I can understand him not mentioning it as I do get very anxious but I can’t help it!

Any comments would be appreciated. Thanks.

Just wondered if you have the ALK mutation and if so, have you thought about joining the ALK Positive UK and Worldwide Groups? Lots of information on both of those sites? X
