Casodex

Today our oncologist mentioned that he had been trying to get his hormone sensitive patients to have Zytiga in place of Casodex. He said that insurance was denying everyone. He said he was certain Zytiga would work better then Casodex. So I'm thinking of buying it in Canada? Thoughts/ ideas?

My name is Lynne and I live in Nebraska. I was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010 with bilateral mastectomy. Did well for 6 + years and just diagnosed with MBC to bones in spine, lymph nodes in neck and both lungs. Recently went through 3 weeks of radiation therapy to help some pain in my right arm

Saw an oncologist the other day and he is adding casodex in addition to the Eligard I've been on since 12/16. I am having a new bone scan and CT scan at the end of this month.

He started Lupron and casodex in May. His bone pain has persisted. The ro seemed to think there might be explanations for this but the mo was less hopeful. He said my dad's symptoms should be alleviated and that if the Lupron isn't working, this changes things dramatically.

Casodex is sometimes temporarily used too, but there are reasons for continuous use too. "Although T flare has been considered risky for 30 yr, a modern review of the evidence collected primarily in the 1980s and 1990s fails to support this view.

When I hit .1 was put on Casodex which worked for about 2 months. The side effects were terrible for me, especially sore breasts. From there we decided on more watch the PSA every months and when there was a spike to go evaluation and new treatments.

So it took 12 weeks for the Casodex to fully leave my system and drive my psa back down to unreadable. Needless to say, I'm going ride my favorable Casodex withdrawal as long as I can before I start Provenge.

I have been on Lupron with Casodex (50 mgs daily) and feel a million times better than when I was first dx. I am being treated at UCSF and have been relatively happy so far.

I suffer from runny nose & sneezing all the time. This is not seasonal coz I started suffering from it since I was 19 and i'm 25 now. So far, I've tried all kinds of antihistamines and check up from specialists. But, whenever I treat my runny nose & sneezing, I get a postnasal drip which makes me cough

I was started on casodex and lupron. However it was found the casodex raised my liver readings to 5 times normal! Therefore I was taken off casodex, it took 6 months for my liver readings to return to normal.

I am on my first script of casodex and they are wanting me to go on Lupron. However, I am highly resistant to go on it due to all of the horror stories I have read and heard about.

My oncologist has recently started me on Lupron with Casodex (temporary) as we're awaiting the arrival of my Xtandi drug. During this time period my mets became active again and the met in my spine has now aggravated a nerve that travels to my inner groin making walking any distance a challenge.

He was initially given oral meds (Casodex, Zytiga and Xtandi). He's due for his 4th cyle of chemo (Taxotere) in the coming weeks. His PSA has gone down to 26; however, the side effects have become progressively worse (lack of taste, fatigue, achy, hair loss, etc.)

I just wanted to mention again that I do take 50 mg of Casodex daily in addition to the 3 month Lupron injections.

I was wondering what experiences men have had with degarelix, lupron and casodex? Has anyone taken all three agents?

I am casodex 150 mg and avodart .5 mg and has been bouncing around between 3 and 5 for about a yr and a nurse told me about 5yr. doubling time. But now its been going up around .6 every month for the past 3 months. Psa is now 5,83.

Can any hormone therapy or something that suppresses testosterone or dihydrotestosterone (casodex, ketonazole, avodart...) help him or is his PC castrate - resistant? Zytiga and Xtandi are not possibe as long-term treatment for financial reasons.

PSA at DX was 7.3, started 50mg Casodex immediately & then Eligard shots. Dec 2016 PSA was 1.16, 30 days later dropped to .97, then to .77, today reading was .74. I have also had 45 IMRT treatments and was expecting better results. Radiation finished in march of 17.
