AF again and long wait for appointment.
I have AF *formally diagnosed Oct 2020) and been in Normal sinus rhythm for 6 months since
cardioversion
in March. 4 weeks ago I went into full AF again and was in casualty overnight. Heart rate down but always an irregular heart rate again.

StartedFlecainide yesterday. No changes yet Suggesting another Defib cardioversion so Flecainide might maintain NSR Anyone else similar ?
Cardioversion
worked for 4 days. Started 50mg Flecainide BD yesterday. Higher from next week. They're saying another
Cardioversion
in Nov, so guess they're not expecting the Flecainide to put me back in NSR. Has anyone else had this treatment like this and it worked ?

Might give someone hope…
He was placed on 8 different types of medication and had
cardioversion
. 6 months later he has been for another echocardiogram and in his follow up cardiologist appointment yesterday we got some fantastic news. He is now sitting around 50% EF and his heart is still in sinus rhythm.

Raised Heart Rate on Flecainide within a week, still in Persistent AF, yet mid week looked like it was settling. Anyone else similar?
I am still in persistent AF, after a failed
cardioversion
2 weeks ago, another booked for 16th Nov, idea being the Flecainide might help to hold it this time. Have missed this morning's dose in the hope that maybe for me this was too high a dose. Just read it has a 48hr half life.

From fit to fed up and feel like a failure….
Been a long time since my last post ……have gone through a CBT course ,which helped me to think a little more positively for a while, but having always been a glass full rather than half empty person …..hasn’t in the longer term made much if any difference . Have had 3 cardioversions plus 1 ablation

Had a
cardioversion
that lasted a week. Went on to Sotalol- kicking and screaming all the way. As of two days ago my 24/7 Afib stopped and I am in Sinus Rhythm. Dr. said it was due to Sotalol and if I stop it the Afib will return. My heart is enlarged noted from my ultrasound.

Sedation for Cardioversion
I received a telephone call from the hospital today with a date for my
cardioversion
. I understood from the cardiologist that I would be put out but was told today that is not the case and it will only be sedation. I have an appointment with the nurse a week beforehand to go through it all.

Anyone finding they're having to wait extra long for their first or 2nd/3rd ablation due to Covid delays ?
Cardioversion
lasted 4 days and waiting for advice on possible Flecanide. One day at a time .... Just feels like my life again, is on hold. Can't get out and do anything I normally do .

After unsuccessful Cardioversion yesterday, what's next?
Is there anybody out there in a somewhat similar situation where you're asymptomatic and
cardioversion
didn't work, and now you're considering whether it's worth it to try ablation or anything else? Thank you!

Hubby forgot his pills 🤦♀️🤦♀️
After ablation 3 weeks, high HR last week culminating in
cardioversion
; he was doing so well with normal HR, sinus rhythm & BP. Then he forgot his pills last night, went into AF overnight, and now has HR of 120. Any suggestions/thoughts will be gratefully received!

Do I need a cardioversion?
I now have a follow up appointment for a
cardioversion
. But my heart rhythm has returned to normal with the bisoprol medication. So I don't think I need the
cardioversion
. What should I do? I haven't seen any cardiologist yet. But they have booked me into hospital as a day case.

A question about Flecainide
I had thought it was common practice to have an echocardiogram before prescribing the drug but I was told that it would be better for me to have it after the
cardioversion
. I have one coming up next month.

Cardi version and not Flecainide ?
Saw the Cardiologist last week and he wants to go for
Cardioversion
instead of PIP treatment with Flecainide as he feels it wont work know as heart been in AF for over a week. Put me on Bioprisol and a blood thinning medication for now until I get my appointment.
