I was told
cardioversion
had its best chance of working if done early, but it’s just getting left to get worse as far as I can see. Thanks for any comments.

lim due for a
cardioversion
tomorrow morning but since yesterday my HR has been in the 130/140. When I go into hospital tomorrow will they still do
cardioversion
or will they want to get my HR down first?

Question for anyone who has had OHS please
Yesterday I have a
cardioversion
which was successful. I feel like I have gone back to day one with the pain. I’ve got small red mark from where the
cardioversion
was. I appreciate that everything has to knit back together but the pain on my right boob is sooo bad.

Thank you all for replies, re Bisoprolol. Back in AF today !
The last
cardioversion
I had 16 months ago lasted 4 months , I felt on top of the world ,and was looking forward to feeling the same. I’m so disappointed. I am on the waiting list to have an ablation at Cambridge, I just hope I don’t have to wait too long .

AF and weight gain. Do AF and associated treatments impact on the ability to lose weight?
Cardioversion
undergone which was not helpful and now await postponed ablation. I constantly feel very sluggish and have put on nearly a stone in the last year. I have been on a strictly calorie controlled diet for the last 5 weeks and have not lost a single pound! Most disheartening.

PIP Claim with AFib
I have had permanent AFib for last 15 months, had
Cardioversion
last August, lasted less than 1 hour, came back with a vengeance, under Thoracic consultant, as breathing down, having further tests.

Heavy arms and legs…
My worry is - if it’s not the medication causing the problem & not the condition ( having not felt any better in the week following the
cardioversion
) what could it be?

How long should I wait?
68, male, no underlying conditions, relatively fit, not overweight. Afib diagnosed 2019. 2 cardioversions in 2020, 3 months apart. No problems since until recently. Irregular heartbeat returned 2 days ago, after overworking on a diy project then stupidly rewarding myself with alcohol. On Apixiban

Feeling grim after hospital stay for AF episode - advice please!
Had particularly tenacious episode of AF which failed to respond to my usual Flecainide PIP. This led to hospital over the weekend. After a somewhat lengthy process I eventually returned to sinus rhythm with the help of more flecainide, more Bisoprolol and a new one for me, IV magnesium. I was discharged

exercise anxiety
I got it checked and confirmed afib but it was continuous for a month until I had a successful
cardioversion
2 months later. Since then (nearly 2 years have passed) I haven’t once converted back in afib and had sinus rhythm ever since.

Successful Cardioversion
So after a successful
Cardioversion
does that mean I no longer have AF ? Do I need to tell someone such as a travel insurer. I think the answer will be yes but was wondering what you great peoples experience was. Thanks

Persistent/Permanent AF in preference to Paroxysmal??
I have paroxysmal AF which is now persistent (over 7 days continuous AF only resolvable to NSR with DCCV
cardioversion
). I have had 3 ablations for AF and 1 for atrial flutter.

Stopping medications
Long story short, last May I had an episode of atrial flutter and I had to do a
cardioversion
. After that, I was put on bisoprolol and rivoraxoban but unfortunately I got a lot of terrible side effects. The bisoprolol made me really exhausted and I gained 7kilos of fluids.

A-Fib reprieve
Nothing like two previous full-on episodes in July 2023 and May 2024, both requiring
cardioversion
, after lasting 12-16 hours. Today I saw my cardiologist for a post-Holter follow-up.

Sotalol and troubles breathing
I would like to reach out to see if anybody has ever had similar experience as I do at present. After 7 cardioversions and 2 ablations I was eventually and surprisingly converted to sinus 7months ago with Sotalol(amiodarone and flecainide failed to do so) and remained in sinus since. I am very active

Heart valve checks…!
I underwent a
cardioversion
which was successful. Only now I’m being told a yearly check up on my valve is standard practice. Does everyone get regular checks. I have mentioned a lack of attention (to my GP) in the past re: my mechanical valve but nothing has happened.

Trying to be patient.
It made my AF seem not that big of a deal and am now in a sinus rhythm since my
Cardioversion
in Jan 22. The problem is I’ve never met my cardiologist. I was diagnosed with persistent AF in July 21 and was put on 2.5mg bisop and 60mg edox and had a
Cardioversion
as mentioned above.
