SSRIs
I have just started Dronedraone after being on Bisoprolol and Flecainide, and resumed Apixaban with a planned
cardioversion
next month then possibly ablation. I seem to recall reading somewhere that there are some contradictions with SSRIs and AF or AF drugs. Thanks, Stuart

Is ablation right for me ?
I was hit suddenly with AFIB last October and spent my 62nd birthday in the hospital getting an electro-
cardioversion
which left me in normal rhythm for about 10 days before the AFIB started up again. I gave been in AFIB ever since, taking blood thinner and calcium channel blocker.

ablation
I saw my cardiologist last Friday and he is arranging for a
cardioversion
to take place 6 weeks after the op if I remain in AF. He tells me the first 6 weeks are the blanking period and is not an indication that the op has failed. Is this the norm for some people?

Paroxysmal or permanent?
I keep reading posts about
cardioversion
and ablation but as I never see a cardiologist this is never discussed. As a lot of you seem to have a vast knowledge on the subject of AF could you please answer the following questions: Am I now in permanent AF?

Just thinking out loud.
I am due a
cardioversion
in the very near future. One thing bothers me. I am at present in persistent AF, luckily being in AF doesn't effect my lifestyle at all and I am completely symptom free. I do take Apixiban.

AF and insanity.
Whilst away I tested two race engines both of which gave record power, gave myself a free
cardioversion
whilst adjusting the ignition timing on one of them thanks to a faulty lead and then delivered one of the engines fifty miles off my route.

Post-Cryoablation "Wobbles"
Backed off on the cycling - avoided big hills. 12 weeks after cryoablation AF reappeared, left it for 4 days but did not resolve so went to A+E and had
cardioversion
. Pulse been steady as a rock since (5 weeks).

Ablation - If you had to do over again, *WOULD YOU?
I am a single 60 year old healthy male with intermittent Paroxysmal AF. Currently scheduled for Ablation in a few weeks and I am scared about the after effects. Since 2012 had 2 cardioversions and 2 other AF events of 24+ hours that subsequently quelled via medication. Last two events happened within

Beta blockers and remaining in sinus after cardioversion
Does anyone have any information about being on beta blockers and remaining in sinus having had
cardioversion
? Without being told to after CV I stayed on beta blockers for a couple of months and remained in sinus despite doing strenuous exercise.

Ablation on the horizon
I had a
cardioversion
on 13th October; I woke up in NSR and was told by the cardiologist that I could get back to normal levels of exercise (still on bisoprolol, so “normal” was not exactly the right description).

Update
Internal
Cardioversion
October 2016, failed. Not seeing specialist until January 2017. The hospital have put me on 1.25 mg of Bisoprol, supposedly to raise dose slowly. I'm supposed to reduce my dilzem. And double my ramipril to 5mg. And I have to say I feel better, over the last month.

Wrong decision?
While waiting for Barts (London) to arrange a
cardioversion
, I finally plucked up courage to ask to see an EP, and now have an appointment in January. However, I've just had a phone call offering the CV on 30th November.

Is this an AF incident?
I was diagnosed with AF in 2013 with no real symptoms other than lack of energy, could not complete long walks etc. Have had several cardioversions all of which failed and was told because of my age, 77yrs, they did not recommend ablation . Have my GP try to improve things with drugs, they did find

In persistent AF and cardioversion appointment in a few weeks time.
HR between 65 and 80 depending on activity and quite normal BP as the time gets nearer I and beginning to question the wisdom of having the
cardioversion
at all.
