Many a slip...
I was hoping to be able to write and say I had had the
cardioversion
and that everything was back to normal! It isn't so. I had my INR levels checked yesterday (blood clotting levels on warfarin) and they were 1.8 so I had to ring the hospital because the levels have to be 2-4 .

Atrial Flutter
So... has anyone here HAD AF which has moved to a flutter, or had a flutter that develops into AF? I'm interested to know which way round it was or if they're both happening at the same time or if you've had one but not the other. I've got a near-on 4 year history of pAF, with various cardioversions

Pre-op assessment
I went for the pre-op assessment for the
cardioversion
today and they went through all the questions for anaesthetic. Finally got to did I have a wheeze, so I explained I had bronchiectasis and obliterative bronchiolitis.

Cardioversion at last!
After five weeks of atrial fibrillation I at last have a date for the
cardioversion
, but needless to say geopolitical problems have got in the way again! I have been getting worse, which has involved two visits to A&E and one to the GP.

Post ablation
Was back in hospital for a
cardioversion
on Wednesday and guess what - that didn't work either. But had to stay in overnight. I was put on amiodorone to see if that would put my heart back into sinus rhythm which it did.

Reducing Bisoprolol dosage
I was diagnosed with AF on 7th December 2016 and was lucky enough to have a
cardioversion
done on 2nd March 2017. I have been on the same drugs since diagnosis in December 2016- 1 x Bisoprolol 7.5mb daily and 2 x Apixaban 5mb daily.

Cardioversion medical follow-up
I did get the required EKG , showing AF, seven days after the
cardioversion
. The problem is with the follow-up. My print-out states, "Call your AF Clinic if you have not received a follow-up appointment." I hadn't.

Another Cardioversion or Ablation?
I am considering having an ablation rather then another
cardioversion
. I had a
cardioversion
2 weeks ago it was successful for only a week. I've had persistent AF for a week now.

Advice about ablation - Update
As for the referral to an EP, he said the time to consider that was when I got to the stage of needing
cardioversion
. He is clearly not a fan of ablation! It's bad enough having AF without having to fight the experts! Thank you all once again, and I'm not giving up! 😁

Cardioversion Success
My first
cardioversion
was successful!! On first try! So, from the doom and gloom implied by the one visit cardiologist, I was successfully converted today by a top electrophysiologist Dr. M. Bennett. The staff and nurses, the equipment, the doctors were all positive, professional experiences.

Persistent Atril Fibrillation. Left Ventricular Impairment with Decompensated Heart Failure. Hypertension
My first
cardioversion
lasted for 20 months but my second only a few hours. I had to wait so long for an outpatient follow up appointment I paid for a private consultation with the cardiologist who recommended I see an electrophysiologist which I paid for too.

4 wks after cardioversion
After being in persistent flutter for maybe one year I had a
cardioversion
4 wks ago. I have never had symptoms and exercised extensively throughout. BP normal and no diabetes. Bradycardia ( 46bpm) after exercise with no other symptoms.

Hi, this is my first post to this site and I think it's great to be able to connect with other people that have the same condition… I have had this for about 16 years, many cardioversions and three ablations (all failed) I have read an interesting article or actually YouTube about a case of persistent

Don't Give Up
It's a tough condition to live with. The day to day uncertainty is hard and results can be very disheartening. I was diagnosed by accident about 8 months ago. Went to have my annual Blood Pressure check and nurse was concerned my heart rate was high. Proceeded to have an ECG then subsequently diagnosed

Well that's it!!!
I'm awaiting a
cardioversion
, which should happen sometime in the next month, but my EP has said he doesn't think it will last. What do I do next? Do I sell my house and get something with a smaller garden.

Afib following Ablation
Had an ablation done 11 days ago. Was feeling great and no Afib up until this morning. Been in constant Afib since - circa 8 hours so far (have a Kardia device to monitor it). Really demoralising. I understand that Afib episodes are common after ablation, however most of the 'episodes' I have read about
