UK Cabazitaxel/Carboplatin availability
Now, with the decision to switch from Docetaxel to Cabazataxel, my local hospital has told me that the only way to combine it with
Carboplatin
, is to pay £1,500 per cycle. This would mean a total cost of £15,000.

Update following meeting with MO
I got a second opinion via email from Professor DeBono at Royal Marsden and he basically said that given my situation, either cabazitaxel or
carboplatin
(or both) is the next (and only remaining) treatment available.

Feeling like Chemo is too Hard
I was diagnosed 3B HG in August 2018, had surgery, frontline, first recurrence ( carbo and caelyx/doxil), 3 years of Olaparib, one year on nothing and now am having
carboplatin
alone for second recurrence. My oncologist said this would be relatively easy.

2nd recurrence
So the have started me on another course of 6 rounds of Pacitaxol/
Carboplatin
. I’ve been told that my cancer is slightly more difficult to treat as it was Stage 2 Grade 3 adenocarcinomasarcoma. Are there any other ladies out there with the same diagnosis.

Seeking anyone familiar with aggressive small cell neuroendocrine prostate cancer and/or with lurbinectedin as 2nd line chemotherapy.
MSS, TMB low) I had 4 cycles of
carboplatin
/etoposide chemotherapy, which ended in March 2024 because a CT scan with contrast indicated a net increase in tumor burden.

Caelyx
I finished 6 cycles of
carboplatin
/paclitaxel at end Oct and it seemed to have really worked on the cancer that is in my liver and peritoneum so following advice of my oncologist I’ve had a break as I’ve been on chemo of some kind or other since Sept 21.

Low platelets
She has just had her second treatment, which was
carboplatin
and etoposide. This knocked for six and she has been in hospital with low white blood cells, low haemoglobin and has no immune system. I appreciate these are common side effects.

Chemo question
I had my first taxol/
carboplatin
treatment last week. I had an allergic reaction shortly after starting. Then on days 3-6 I had severe sharp pains in my bones in my back and legs that broke through my pain meds. Now on day 8 I am still struggling with pain, bloating and nauseousness.

Neuroendocrine PCa
I was treated with 4 rounds of atezolizumab/
carboplatin
/etoposide (chemotherapy and immunotherapy). A pet/CT scan shows it was effective, and I fared better than I expected going in, but definitely have fatigue and weakness.

Short-term tactics to keep PSA in check
The cabazitaxel/
carboplatin
combo was effective but brutal in its attack on my immune system. Having had no treatment at all while my body tries to recover, I'm currently being considered by the Peter Mac Centre in Melbourne for LU-177.

Gemcitibane/intravenous zoledronic acid
The oncologist wants to give me zoledronic acid again about every 3 weeks and has said they will treat me with
carboplatin
and gemcitibane to try to reduce the cancerous lymph nodes.

GemCarbo and picc line advice please!
They've told me that I'll have gemcitabine with
carboplatin
this time round, so I was just wondering if anyone had any advice about this regime please? Even though carbotaxol was rough, I would have at least known what to expect if I'd had the same treatment again this time!

Weird tingling (not just peripheral neuropathy)
I start the New Year with an odd query: I'm now on Day 21 of a Cabazitaxel/
Carboplatin
combination chemo. I was due to have infusion #2 today, but because of a bad reaction, we've decided to pause treatment (see another post of mine re that decision.....)

Post 2nd line chemo options
She was treated with Paclitaxel and
carboplatin
, her CA125 dropped from over 800 to 16 and her tumours reduced to point of being barely visible. She was given Avastin as maintenance.

Docetaxel not working so stopped
When pressed he said there is Cabizataxel and/or
Carboplatin
available on the NHS. My inclination is to take things into my own hands at this point - self-fund a liquid biopsy to see if there are any mutations that suggest treatments.
