CLL Questions
He has become more symptomatic and they want to give him
Calquence
. He already has afib, bruising, COPD, fatigue and I have to do everything for him physically because of weakness and low blood pressure.

bowel leakage
I was taking Imbruvica for 3years, then switched to and currently taking
Calquence
for the past 3 years. In recent weeks have experienced bowel leakage on occasion. Might that be related to the medication?

Pirtobrutinib approved by my insurance company
On my last visit to Upenn, my blood counts were significantly higher and after 4 years on
Calquence
, it has stopped working. My specialist was hoping Iād make it thru January 2024 when they expect Pirto to approved for CLL, but thatās not likely.

Health Insurance Advice
My husband is now being treated with
Calquence
/alacalabrutinib for his CLL following the infection. He feels 100% better. We had to declare that he was now on treatment to StaySure. They got back to us today to say they would no longer insure us!

Has anyone been treated for arhythmia while being on

Calquence and decreased hemoglobin
I have been on
Calquence
for just about a month and had my first labs yesterday. Neuts were normal. Platelets were steady at 120. My absolute WBC was 106,000 from 43,000, but that was to be expected. However, my hemoglobin was 10.3 from 11.2.

Acalabrutinib, NYU, Columbia Presbyterian, and Dr. Nicole Lamanna
Good evening, Soon, I will start taking alacabrutinib (also known as
Calquence
), and NYU is overseeing my care. Could you please provide more information about the potential side effects? While Iāve researched the drug, hearing about peopleās experiences adds a different perspective.

What to do with leftover medications?
I recently had to change from Imbruvica to
Calquence
due to afib issues. I had a blister pack of doses of Imbruvica left over. That's over$10,000 at list price. Hated to just turn it in to recycle and was hoping someone else could use it.

Question: Any difference in Calquence (Acalabrutinib) capsules vs tablets
Recently, when we picked up my hubby's acalabrutinib pills and the pharmacy gave him pills vs capsules. My husband is doing quite well on the capsules. Should we be concerned? I'm wondering if this has happened to anyone and did you notice any changes? I thank you in advance for your support š

Total Knee Replacement and CLL Connected?
I'm on
Calquence
. I had knee replacement in March 2023 and am still reeling from pain, scar tissue buildup and very limited range of motion, even after having a subsequent knee manipulation. I am now having to brace w/Dynasplints for approx 3hrs./day and doing PT.

Help needed please
My husband has been offered
Calquence
. These are tablets to be taken twice a week. Are these for early stage CLL? Has anyone else had this form of treatment? What can we expect? Do the treatments depend on what country we live in? We live in the UK?

Blurry Vision
I have run across information on this site and elsewhere that blurred vision can be a side effect associated with Ibrutinib, however, have not seen anything concerning blurred vision with
Calquence
or Allopurinol. I have an appointment with my eye doctor this week.

Probiotics with extended duration IV antibiotics
He also takes
Calquence
twice a day. He now has the unpleasant side effects of antibiotics (mild stomach pain, diarrhea) - he's on Ancef, a cephalosporin (known to cause GI issues) - and we're not sure how to address it.

Chemotherapy
My doctor wanted me to try the chemotherapy treatment of
Calquence
(acalabrutinib) tablets. For me the results was coming very slow but was working. At this point my numbers are very good after being on it for about 5 years. It's very expensive but was put in a program to help with cost.

Imbruvica
My question: I have seen recent articles where combination of some of the medications help limit any future side effects or that
Calquence
gives less symptom relief and has better outcomes as a newer medication.
