Caelyx

So we are where we are, unfortunately and I have to have chemo to stop it, reduce it etc Which is, Carbo/Caelyx to start every 4 weeks asap. Midway, debaulking maybe, removal of tumour, maybe, then continue on to finish the 9 treatments and possibly a stoma reversal.

Well Hello, Just finished my 2nd treatment with Caelyx/Doxil which knock on wood no major side effects except for stomach issues. It feels really sore, almost like wearing a really tight belt and then a little nauaeous.

Hi Ladies, My Mum has had her first session with this drug, it’s not going well and I think she’ll be changing drugs again, but in the meantime she is telling me her hair has been falling out a bit, and that she is experiencing no headache but scalp ache particularly when lying down at night. Anyone

I have an aggressive, probable ovarian origin, cancer which has been treated over the past 18 months with paclitaxel and carboplatin, Caelyx, and topotecan. The cancer is progressing.

I finished carbo/caelyx at Christmas, my hair is still coming out ! Its thinned all over but is worse on the top. Is this normal. I would have thought it should be growing back by now. Unfortunately got another 2 rounds coming up,should I ask for cold cap this time ?

Hi lovely ladies, Had my scan results yesterday and the caelyx/Carbo has not worked on my 1st recurrence. She has referred me to Royal Marsden and Christie’s for a second opinion and possible trial options, if available.

Since then I’ve been on, first carbo only (no success,) and now caelyx/Avastin since December with success. But not the you are cured kind of success, but the you’ll probably be only chemo forever kind of success, maintenance, a marathon.

I recurred a year ago and had 9 months Carbo/caelyx. When I finished chemo Ca125 was 7. Two months later - after first covid vaccine it was 8 - then a month later after 2nd vaccine it was 10. I realize it’s thankfully under 35 - but it is two consecutive months of an increase.

Her OC is now back and she has had a first dose Caelyx, a new drug to her. In the last few days she has felt awful but not enough to hospitalise her like last time. But she has said to both me and my sister that she doesn’t want to talk whilst she is unwell.

Her CA125 levels have steadily risen, now 1400, she is down for Chemo again to hopefully get rid of some remaining cells, Caelyx (Liposomal Doxorubicin) is now the drug of choice. Any hints tips experiences for her this time round?

I had my second chemo carbo/caelyx last week for first recurrence, after a slight delay because of low white blood count. This week after my usual steroid high I find that I am completely and utterly zapped.

I have recently started on monthly infusions of Caelyx after new mets appeared in my liver while on Everolimus and Exemestane. I've experienced significant nausea, some vomiting and swollen/painful hands in the first fortnight.

Hi all - I’ve just finished 9 monthly Carbo & Caelyx for first recurrence. Ca125 is 8. Likely starting PARP Olaparib within 8 weeks. Many of my blood levels are low - although all were within normal range PRE chemo.

Hi Lovely Ladies, I have just started second line chemotherapy ( carboplatin/ caelyx) after a rather short remission. My veins are now described as "shy' and it can be a bit of battle to get cannula in, but one I can cope with( and so far they've always managed).

Hi Iam treatment 4 of 6 chemotherapy Carboplatin and caelyx, second line treatment. When I finish I have been offered the Icon 9 trial which is trialling Olaparib on its own versus Olaparib and Cedinarib. Initially I as offered the Parp inhibitor Niraparib .

I am about to start a course of topotecan as third line for ovarian cancer, having previously tried carbo/paclitaxol, followed by Caelyx which I felt was helping but was deemed to have failed. Has anyone had topotecan and how did it go?

Got phone call today,1st of march back up to see oncologist, get results of scan and hopefully start parp inhibitors, will let you all know how I get on,goodluck to everyone going through chemo at moment,its hard going on your own ,get my coving jab tomorrow 😀 👍

I saw my onc today, and the Carbo/Caelyx has worked well, so I will be starting Rubraca in the next few weeks after some pressing dental treatment. I shall doubtless be troubling you ladies with all sorts of PARP type queries! Jenny

I had a few rounds of carboplatin/paclitaxel, which help things at bay for a while, then 3 doses of Caelyx which apparantly was not working although I felt well on it. I’ve now been offered topotecan, i.v., five days on, two weeks off, and wonder if anyone else has tried this and how they got on.

It turns out my CT was not very good and concerning, and my CA125 had started to rise after 4 cycles of carbo/caelyx. I have been offered the DICE trial and TAK228 maintenance. I’m of course so disappointed as I have been on treatment since March 2017. Swings and roundabouts all the way.
