Cruciferous veggies and thyroid - yay or neh?
Hi All, I have heard many times that you should avoid cruciferous veggies with thyroid problems. Yet, I am yet to actually see any solid evidence behind it. Raw cabbage, sure, probably not a good idea. Raw broc sprouts is probably not a good idea. A lot of cruciferous veggies, maybe not a good idea

Carbimazole causing very short period cycles (+ rapid drop in t4 on low dose)
Hello I was diagnosed with Graves Disease in July 2020 after reporting feeling uneasy, shaky, urinating frequently and having some hair loss. My T4 returned to normal levels quite rapidly without medication. I have had since had flair ups (had my T4/TSH measured) and both resolved on their own.

Fluctuations in levels
Me again, here to pick your lovely brains! Is it normal for thyroid levels to fluctuate all the time? I'm not on any medication. I had 2 blood tests 1 week apart, both taken early morning before breakfast. First lot: TSH 5.05 (0.27-4.2) T4 13.1 (12-22) T3 4.3 (3.1-6.8) Second lot: TSH 2.94 (0.40-4.90

Accord at last.
After a tremendous kerfuffle, drove across town to collect my Accord brand, to find later a text from my practice to say that after approx 6 weeks, I was to prompt a TSH blood test! Amazing considering I was told they were ‘all the same’! Also finally got my belated Medichecks annual Advanced Thyroid

Hi, My GP has asked for advice from an endo and finally agreed to start me on a trial of 25mcg Levo. In my medical notes, it shows the message from the endo to my GP: "(..) symptoms (..) on a back ground of normal TSH 2.77, FT4 9( lower side of normal) AND FT3 4.7 which is not classic subclinical

Frequency of testing
Hello all,I'm sure this has been answered 100 times, but I'm having difficulty finding the information. My question is how quickly do TSH, T3, and T4 numbers react to a change of medication dose. 8 weeks? 12 weeks? Does TSH react more quickly than T3 and T4? I ask specifically because 6 weeks ago

I have been taking levothyroxine since the start of November 2023 following months of me saying that there was something wrong with me. I looked back over bloods that had been taken and found an anti-thyroid peroxidase antibody report with the results 141.63 (0.0-24.9) that no-one had discussed with

Atrophied Thyroid Gland (1 side only) & Vascular abnormalities showing in ultrasound…
Hi, I have only one side thyroid gland (believed to be by birth, though I am not convinced). A recent thyroid ultrasound report stated vascular abnormalities, not expanded on. Having read up a little often a lot of literature online says frequently relates hyperthyroid. A study revealed that often

Help interpreting results :)
Hi there, I'd be so grateful for some help trying to interpret test results. I started getting symptoms of joint stiffness, low energy, skin breakouts and generally not feeling myself, in 2021. Due to the joint inflammation in my feet and fingers, I was diagnosed with Inflammatory Arthritis, but there
