Hello I am new here. I have longstanding CFS/ME and Osteoporosis. I have been prescribed Prolia and wonder if I am out of options.
Hello all! I am female, nearly 70, in the last 20 years I have developed multiple allergies and intolerances, so my diet is quite limited. I take D3, B12 in a spray, and try to incorporate calcium in my food, eg tahini. Vitamin C with plenty of lemon juice. I have never smoked and can't drink alcohol

BP labile & dizzy spells & arm pain
I think Actemra or maybe
Boniva
effects my thinking, or at least I get to use it as an excuse.

Faint & dizzy with GCA
Had
Boniva
i.v. 10 days ago for osteo. The past 7 days I've had 4 episodes of dizziness, nausea & actually fainted twice. Pcp (last Friday phone call)said could be dehydration (I know I was not dehydrated any of the times it's happened.

GCA f/u to ongoing journey.
He said
boniva
may be contributing to pain. My great ophthalmologist & fantastic pp are both left practice, but rheumy reassured me that the new ones will be as good & supportive or he will help me find others who are.

Prednisone effect or something else
Could it be related to prednisone or
boniva
side effects? Seems like silly thing to be at all concerned but this disease has me so confused. Just when I get a little handle on symptoms something else pops up. As always appreciate advice, suggestions, kindness.

GCA. Osteo. Esoph issues-? pred or boniva side effects
Second concern is pretty severe low back pain that started abt 2 weeks after first
boniva
i.v. I've had disabling tingling & weakness in lower back/legs for months but not real pain. Just had xrays, no spinal fractures but multiple bone spurs on spine. Rheumatologist wants me to come in to discuss.

Tapering with gca okay
Also, rheumatologist was very "concerned " that I haven't started the i.v.
boniva
he ordered. So hard to add something else right now. Finally, gastroenterologist just put me on level 2 dysphagia diet due to swallowing issues. Still believe all of these health issues are connected.

Waiting to feel better
Boniva
for osteoporosis. I said I need more time to decide if I want to do
boniva
. My question is: Wouldn't it be better to wait to add another toxic medicine until I feel a little stronger? What's the rush?

Osteosporosis meds
I have tried Fosomax and
Boniva
but I have esophageal reflux and couldn’t tolerate either. He now suggests Prolia but the possible side affects are scary. I am very active, do regular cardiac and weight bearing exercises. I am looking for other options to increase my bone density.

How to discuss osteoporosis treatment with my doctors?
Guys, this is going to be a long one....I need help, but things are so complicated that I feel as if I'd better explain the background to this question fairly fully, so here goes; I saw my gp this week about treatment for osteoporosis. She & I have been discussing the many reasons for concern regarding
