Chairman's letter to members - The outcome and next steps - CLLSA Campaign on delisting of CLL drugs from the Cancer Drugs Fund
However the bad news is that
Bendamustine
will be delisted for relapsed/refractory CLL, although it still remains available for first line therapy.

The consultant said it would be
Bendamustine
but I've read that this drug is possibly going to be delisted in November. Please can anyone advise on an alternative if it is delisted or is it possible to get the drug privately? Thanks for any advice.

My life with CLL
Given that I also had renal dysfunction, the proposed treatment was
Bendamustine
. This went reasonably well, but I did require three admissions due to adverse reactions to the treatment. In July 2012 I was said to be in remission.

CLLSA Campaign on CDF delisting decisions
We are still waiting to hear about the outcome of our appeal to oppose the delisting of
Bendamustine
and Ibrutinib from NCDF. The decision will be taken behind closed doors and will be informed close to the delisting date of 4 November.

Another new one
I had
bendamustine
, Rituxan, and Idelalisib as part of a clinical trial but failed the Idelalisib part. Remission should last a few years and then I'll be back at it again. I'm especially interested in the research for obvious reasons. Looking forward to learning all I can!

Silly question....
Hi I was diagnosed with CLL in October 2013 I had treatment in October 2014 (
bendamustine
and Rituximab) and finished treatment in March of this year. I saw my haematologist yesterday and he said there is no trace of the leukaemia in my blood . My question is do I still have CLL?

My Take on 3 Interesting Papers on CLL from ASCO 2015
The three presentations are on a new prognostic scale, on a new non-chemo triplet therapy and finally on
Bendamustine
with and without ibrutinib. In the accompanying text, I go into more detail, and of course provide a link to the source material itself so we can all form our own opinions.

Are you biologically young enough for FCR?
Wondering if you are biologically young and fit enough to tolerate say FCR (Fludarabine, Cyclophosphamide Rituximab), or whether a gentler treatment protocol such as BR (
Bendamustine
Rituximab) would suit you better?

Today, I joined CLLSA
I was in a 'wait and watch' situation until May 2015, when I became part of a Randomized Phase III Study of
Bendamustine
plus Rituximab versus Ibrutinib plus Rituximab versus Ibrutinib alone in untreated older patients [I will be 69 in mid-August] with CLL. I am on the Ibrutinib only arm.
