Amantadine anti viral used in parkinson´s
I visited my neurologist yesterday and although I think I am doing great, she prescribed 100mg once a day of amantadine (hope that is the name in english). As anyone been prescribed this? does anyone know how it is supposed to help. I have researched but the contraindications seem to be what I do

Having no success with, alleviate symptoms (mainly tremor), with sinemet, amantadine , ropinirole I am moving to Neupro patch, 4mg, on Monday. My cost will be $350. N A C again
I like what I have heard about NAC so looked online at Amazon UK, its a better site than the one here in Spain, the choice was so varied in type, size, quantity and price I gave up and turned to you all on this site. What if anything is the difference between loose powder and capsules, is 600 mg a good

Medicine: when to start and w/ what
Which medications are right for me? Medications that are effective for one person with Parkinson's disease, may not work well for another person. The best way for a person to identify the right medications is through an evaluation by a doctor or nurse practitioner who is knowledgeable about Parkinson's

Break from Fast Walking
I stopped fast walking several months ago. Meanwhile it became difficult for me to get into bed, lifting my legs and also pulling the covers over me. Tuesday was with my neurologist (movement disorder specialist) for my regular visit. I asked about my prognosis (not optimistic) and asked for Amantadine

What helps reduce Dyskinesia .
We are giving her sinemet , amantadine, Mirapex etc. Over the years we have reduced the amount of sinemet (I think she was overdrugged in the beginning - and we couldn't tell as her tolerance to meds was good ) . Now 1/4 sinemet every 2 hours , to try and follow the less meds at more frequent interval

Amantadine
A doctor here in the US who sees quite a few female carriers has started prescribing Amantadine, a Parkinson's drug for treating tremors. The initial reports seem to indicate an improvement in walking (more effective than 4-AP) with the unfortunate side effect of insomnia. I was wondering if anyone

Difference between Sinemet and Madopar (Co-beneldopa)
A couple of days ago someone on this site asked me what the difference was between these two after I had posted that Sinemet made me confused whereas Madopar was almost miraculous in its effect. I'm afraid I can't find the original question but the difference is that Sinemet is ldopa combined with carbidopa

Recommended questions for neurologist?
I'm taking my 92 year-old dad to his neurologist today. Last time the neurologist had told me that my dad's flavor of Parkinsonism might be PSP-- I think because my dad can't look up. I will ask if PSP can be confirmed. Is there anything new in medication or treatment I should ask about? He's already

Fatigue/spasticity
Had the day off work today, went and got some Lyrica just for something to do. I don't even bother with my neurologist these days, just go to a GP and tell him I have AMN. Very high spasticity/fatigue week. I've been not taking Modafinil for breakfast and instead taking it around 2pm. It is worth

Parkinson's and Exercise question
Advice from the experts. I have a question regarding exercise and parkinson’s. I read everywhere how good exercise is for people with parkinson’s. Every time I start exercising for a few days, my symptoms get worse and it appears to me anyway that the disease appears to progress. I will get new symptoms

“emergency room” PT 2 - amantadine, benadryl and tremor dominant prognosis
I have just returned from second visit to my neuro in three weeks. I want to update my fellow parkies and especially those that have been following my adventure. After three years no drugs, I recently experienced trial run (about 1 month) let’s say of first sinemet and then, after stopping sinemet
