Looking for a Zoom MS support group
I'm back on my old drug
Avonex
, after a huge flop with Aubagio developing Neuropathy. I had five new brain lesions not taking anything so I wanted to go back to
Avonex
instead of trying Mavenclad and I'm glad I spoke my mind to go back onto it. All's well so far!

Chronological vs Biological Age
Yikes: I was diagnosed with MS at age 26 in 1994, no DMT's then, at age 29 I started on
Avonex
, due to the fatigue & cognitive dysfunction I "medically retired" on SSDI at age 45. At age 55, I started on Aubagio, a daily pill, after 25 years of intra-muscular injections with
Avonex
.

Coming off DMTS
My Neuro has been talking to me about coming off my DMT (
Avonex
) I'm 63 and studies show that efficacy /new flares lessen as you get older. I have been on
Avonex
for 12 years. I know a lot of older folks are coming off their DMTs - does anyone have stories?

Generic Teriflunomide
Taking Aubagio was a great improvement over
Avonex
for me as I had pretty bad weekly flu-like symptoms. As of the past July, my insurance removed me from being able to access Aubagio and I was placed on the generic for Aubagio which is teriflunomide.

Does my dad need a blue inhaler?
Hi, just looking for a bit of info I am a bit concerned about my dad he is in his 70’s and a bit complacent when it comes to health. He has asthma (though he is not sure if it’s asthma or chronic bronchitis) was diagnosed in his 40’s. I remember he used to have a brown inhaler and a blue one, but

Encouraging folks to stay on their MS treatment
In May or June I'll be having my next MRI to see if going back on my old drug (
Avonex
) after being off treatment for a year worked. I'm 68 and I was on
Avonex
for many years.

Been away for a bit...depression hit hard
Been on
Avonex
, Rebif, Copaxone, Tecfidera, Vumerity, and Kesimpta. Each drug had its pros and cons, some side effects were more bearable than others. The Kesimpta, which I hoped would work for me, made me very sick and I stopped after six months.

Rhinitis Medicamentosa/A.F./Hip Replacement
Hi, I am about to have a consultation assessment for a hip replacement and having already posted about my concern with having to stop my Flecainide (150mg x 2) pre-op and being scared of going into A.F. prior or during the op. -my other big problem is having used Otrivine type nasal decongestant sprays

Any Long-term Aubagio Users?
Hi All, As you know, I switched to Aubagio (after self-injecting
Avonex
for 25 years) last year. April 2023 has been one full year of my new treatment. I enjoy the simplicity of the once-a-day pill, but I don't enjoy the side effects (hair thinning & loss, GI issues: bad gas, diarrhea).

Calling Former & Current Aubagio Users
I had been self-injecting
Avonex
(1997) since I was dx in 1994. I just started Menopause too. Ugh. I didn't realize that Menopause causes substantial hair loss too. I love the simplicity of Aubagio yet the side effects have really been awful. The GI Issues and horrible diarrhea, etc.

Avonex
hi My name is Mara I took
Avonex
when I was first diagnosed in 2000. I was only able to handle the pain of the side effects for about a year before I had to change to beta serotonin . Which I stayed on only for about two years.

Mis-diagnosed infection
Not sure where to begin, but three weeks ago, after my
Avonex
injection (12 hrs. later) I noticed two leisons on my skin right about where my injections have been. One leison was draining & both areas were pink & painful. I couldn't figure out what it was.

New To Tinnitus - Advice & Tips please
I'm very new to T. My Tinnitus only recently started and is a hiss…. Sometimes louder than others. I have had all the medical checks with a top ENT surgeon. My company has medical insurance which was very helpful. The ENT surgeon prescribed one puff of Nasonex (50 Micrograms) in each nostril morning

Memory & Brain Supplements
I retired at age 45 (dx May 1994 started
Avonex
September 1997). MS-related fatigue and cognitive dysfunction forced me out of my student affairs position. How has the Mon Ster impacted your cognitive abilities? 😂🤞😜

Tysabri for me
After my diagnosis only the ABC drugs—
avonex
, betaseron and copaxone—were available and I had intolerable symptoms. My doctor recommended Tysabri which was new at the time and it was recommended to be used only—not in combination with any other interferon or MS drug.

New Covid Vaccine with My New DMT 2022?
BTW, I switched from
Avonex
(1997-2022) to Aubagio in mid-April 2022. I finally went up to the full 14 mg dose in early June. So, this is the long way of my asking my fellow MSers, for those of you who are on Aubagio, did you have to change anything to get your Covid boosters?
