Two very frustrating experiences. Cancer is not always the problem.
Also turns out that
avastin
, the drug I was on in my research shows that about 15% of patients end up with gastrointestinal ulcers.

In focus: targeted therapies - PARP inhibitors
Unlike
Avastin
(which we covered in last week’s post at: https://healthunlocked.com/ovacome/posts/144311014/in-focus-targeted-therapies-bevacizumab-
avastin
?responses=144311215), PARP inhibitors are tablets, so you can take them at home and don’t need to go to hospital for your treatment.

Gemzar side effects
FDA has no relevant info or suggestions. 3 months later, now on
avastin
infusion every 3 weeks, plus a daily chemo pill, extreme shortness of breath, low energy, & bumps / panniculitis are unchanged. Lost 20+ pounds, all fluid. Swelling most back to pre.gemzar levels .

Bad Avastin reaction
Thankfully onco. agreed to 'set the
Avastin
aside' for the minute, so I'm back on the usual 2-drug combo, but I was wondering: has anyone else had such a bad reaction to
Avastin
?

Too long between surgery and chemo?
Ann was supposed to have
Avastin
alongside but the oncologist decided she wasn't well enough. Whilst waiting for chemo she developed very painful build up of ascites and had 4.5 litres drained prior to stating chemo.

Here we go again
Will be taking weekly taxol and
Avastin
. I’m told it’s pretty tolerable, which I’m all about. Any advise for what I can expect to feel with respect to side effects?

Avastin and ca 125 level going up
Has anyone had ca 125 levels to creep up with
Avastin
alone. Mines went from 37,43,56,78, and now 140. But my ct scans are clear.

Silicone bubble returns
Anyway, I wish I had known it a few years ago, and switched from
Avastin
sooner. I do understand that in the UK the syringe problem might not exist, and, as a treatment for AMD the
Avastin
had been working okay for me otherwise. The Eylea is working equally well now.

Adriamycin anyone?
So after Ibrance, Taxol, Fulvestrant,
Avastin
(still taking Fulvestrant and Denosumab), Xeloda. It looks like my next port of call is either more Taxol (which I found fine for the first 17 weeks) or Adriamycin. Anyone tried this?

Stage 4B OC, 1st Recurrence. How is CarboPlatin and Gemcitibine as treatment?
I am specifically looking for feedback on CarboPlatin and Gemcitibine treatment with
Avastin
. Also, guidance to avoid ascites, and how to keep a good flow for bowel movements.

Infuriating
Now there are trials for parps plus
avastin
or parps plus immuno but we have to know about them which is another problem. We have to become our own researchers for treatments as well as how best to survive the chemicals we live with.
