Feature on Temporal Arteritis in 'Woman's Weekly' magazine.
Just wanted to say that I've just read a health article in this weeks 'Woman's Weekly' magazine, headed 'Coping With Temporal
Arteritis
'. I was all prepared to be quite scathing about it's content, but perhaps our message is getting through!!

Diagnosed with temporal

Nov 2021. Finally off prednisolone 2 weeks ago. Seem to be getting worse throbbing than when I started. 1. Is this usual? 2. Will it improve?

Afib, inflammation and NSAIDs
I have Afib, polymyalgia, giant cell
arteritis
, bursitis, arthritis, spondylitis, tendonitis, IBS etc. Is there a connection between Afib and inflammation? I am unable to take NSAIDs due to being on edoxaban. Since being on DOACs my inflammation has got worse.

Did Covid trigger my GCA?
But, 3 months later in late January I was diagnosed with giant cell
arteritis
. I am still taking medication for that but I do wonder whether Covid caused an underlying inflammation problem that then led to GCA?

Are you a parent with Inflammatory Arthritis?
Having inflammatory arthritis can be hard, add to this the ‘joys’ of raising children and the challenges can begin to pile up. As a parent with IA, it can get frustrating, and you aren’t alone if you feel this way. We’d love to have you join our Parenting with IA meeting, a safe space for you to laugh

Steroid reduction
Two weeks ago I was told reduce your dosage from 4 to3 which I have done. Blood test last week and was told normal . Don't know what normal is as the past few days had pain in shoulders hips and lower back. I also have osteoarthritis in most joints so wondering if it's that that is causing all the pain

Lady Julia
Hi there I was diagnosed with osteoarthritis and fibromyalgia 7years ago. I live alone with no support. Am finding it hard to cope at the moment with the relentless pain and ability to move around. Have tried everything.nothing has worked. It's only my cats that keep me going I just can't bear to let

ACID REFLUX-ARTHRITIS
I rarely get time to read or comment on posts here ...but this morning I have and have been struck by the number of us who suffer from Acid Reflux ... Is this a chicken/egg situation ? do we get acid reflux as another sideline to Arthritis or is it caused by medication ? those of us with reflux issues

night cramps
Hi everyone, I’m new on this forum. I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis 3 years ago, in the family genes!, I’m currently on Methotrexate (25mg). Seem to be ok until about 2 weeks ago when I started to experience severe night cramps in my legs and feet. My consultant tells me it wasn’t a symptom

What is an Osteoarthritis flare?
I have been suffering from a painful knee/leg for a few days, bad enough to make me hobble and far more painful after sitting for a few hours. It gradually got worse over 3 days then yesterday, while walking in my house, something seemed to give and it was agony to walk - I could not put any weight on

PMR or arthritis?
I was diagnosed with PMR a few years ago and have gone through the process of taking 15mg prednisolone and then reducing- now stuck at 6mg and have tried a few times to drop a bit without success. About three or four months ago I began to have a very tight lower back and this became sciatic pain for

Rheumy Nurse?
I am puzzled. This site has many references to apparent support teams. I am delighted if that is general. For myself the only contact with the NHS I have is my GP. It is alleged that there is a very overdue appointment with a consultant. Maybe I shall be able to elicit information about some kind
