Will I develop AFib if I have sleep apnea?
Does being diagnosed with sleep apnea automatically mean I will have AFib? Super anxious here. I’m 19 and awaiting on a sleep apnea test in July. Don’t know how long I have it but do recall episodes of shallow breathing when I was younger.

What does Afib feel like
This might sound daft but I don't really know what it feels like. What I feel now is very different to what I felt prior to my diagnosis and pacemaker fitted. My heart rate and ecg when checked has been fine, at pacemaker clinic they said I'd had 2 small episodes of Afib, which I didn't feel. I have

Newly diagnosed. Is this normal?
Hi all, Apologies for long post but I’m worried. Recently diagnosed with afib after trip to A&E. was already on waiting list to see cardiologist (9 month wait!) due to suspected afib. I’m currently wearing a 48 hour monitor to assess what’s going on. At the moment I have several episodes of afib every

Doxycycline found useful in accelerating recovery in tuberculosis patients
Globally, an estimated 10 million people develop tuberculosis (TB) each year and the disease remains a leading cause of death from a single infectious agent. Standard short-course anti-TB treatment still requires a regimen of at least six months of antimicrobial drugs, and drug-resistant TB

Anyone that has been diagnosed in their 20s/30s with afib?
Hey! It seems like quite a big community here so I hope you don’t mind me asking (and sorry for my any mistakes - not a native English speaker). Is here anyone who has been diagnosed with afib as a young adult? My boyfriend showed the first symptoms of afib around the age of 25. We didn’t know back then

McMaster researcher explains why COVID-19 can cause blood clots.
A McMaster University-led study has teased out the reason for blood clots caused by COVID-19, a serious potential complication of the virus. Blood from critically ill COVID-19 patients contains antibodies that can contribute to clotting, says Ishac Nazy, associate professor of medicine and director

AV Node Ablation
80 years old in Sept and still plagued by afib. Pacemaker fitted in May 2021 and awaiting next step which I’m sure will be AV node ablation – last stop saloon! But is this the only option? The last ablation in 2013 lasted 5 years and possibly longer if severe Mitral regurgitation hadn’t triggered it.

New studies identify how tuberculosis destroy the lungs and how to protect them.
Two new studies have cast unprecedented light on disease processes in tuberculosis, identifying key genetic changes that cause damage in the lungs and a drug treatment that could speed up recovery. Turmeric instead of a blood thinner?
Hi all, wondering if there’s anyone out there who has moved off of using prescription blood thinners in favor of “natural “ remedies such as turmeric? I see on the internet a lot of warnings not to use turmeric while on a blood thinner, but no mention of going the other way ‘round , which seems like

76 years old, on Metoprolol extended release (ER) 25 mg, Atorvastatin both once daily I was taking Metoprolol ER 100 mg once daily and feeling tired and lacking energy.
