Arcoxia, anyone on it?
I have a prescription of
Arcoxia
coming today (probably). I searched the forum but there don't seem to be any recent posts about people using it. Some report it works well but I also note there can be troubles stopping it. Crucially, does it work for most people?

Spondyloarthritis, Benepali, and pregnancy
Have been on
Arcoxia
for a year and they have been fab. We want to start a family so I came off of them forgetting how bloody awful the pain is and how debilitating spondyloarthritis can be!

Oh he suggested anti-inflammatories for the pain even though I had just told him I stopped
Arcoxia
because I had a stomach ulcer. I felt completely depressed and disheartened by his manner. Anyway, in reality I am no worse of than I was yesterday, just a bit grumpier!! Thanks as always

What's realistic?
Have just to use my
Arcoxia
(60mg) as and when required from now on (dictated by pain) as opposed to every day as previously.

Side effects of amitriptyline
I was then put on
arcoxia
but again it made me feel a bit spaced out and my doctor wasnt happy as it has long term bad effects to the kidneys/liver. So i was put on amitriptyline, my worst one yet. Although the pain was taken away slightly, the other side effects were way worse.

A funny thing.......not
I am on lots of stuff but also tramadol 50 mg 8 times a day as well as paracetamol and
arcoxia
so wondering if I just have to bear the pain in the hope that it goes because given that I take the highest dose of tramadol, the gp probably won't be able to help?

Can I cut down on Arcoxia without consultant approval?
Usually take 60mg
Arcoxia
a day but now I've started on my biologics I'm feeling so much better. Would like to cut down on my
Arcoxia
but not sure if that's ok to do that without consulting my consultant first. Is there any reason why I should wait till I see her again?

I'm on
Arcoxia
which really helps, but this just masks that pain and doesn't help with the RA. Thanks in advance.

Hi
Hi, I've been on Etoricoxib (
Arcoxia
) for the past year, as prescribed by my rheumatologist. I've recently moved house and switched doctor surgeries. I have just phoned to request my repeat prescriptions and I got told "the doctor has decided this is a high risk medication and won't issue you it".

Methotrexate
He wants me to continue with the
Arcoxia
which has helped my other non PMR feeling, joint pain. Could I ask opinions and perhaps experience on the medication from the helpful people on this forum.

Should I increase preds, is this a flare?
I am now down to 10mg preds, (in my third week) I also take
arcoxia
for additional non PMR related pain. I was hoping to make small drop soon to 9.5mg.

Arcoxia
He prescribed
Arcoxia
60mgs - and goodness me - what a difference. I am virtually pain free and feeling better than I have for a year - its only day two so I may be getting over excited but feel hopeful for the first time in ages.
