Unsure of best option in early prostate cancer diagnosis.
I have had PSA tests annually for 10 years and in Oct 2023 had an elevated 6.42 result. Was referred to a urologist, whom performed a DRE. There was prostate enlargement but no tumor discovered through DRE. After discussing several options, I decided to have a biopsy on Nov 21, 2023. Dec 5, 2023,

Provenge (only) - impact on overall survival
I just got insurance approval for Provenge...out of pocket is really high so now I'm doing a cost benefit analysis in my mind. I've seen many different articles showing that Provenge ALONE only extends overall survival by 4-15 months. Does that sound correct? Tall_Allen mentioned adding xofigio for

To Chemo or Not to Chemo--that is the ?
Should I follow my MO's advice and do docetaxel? Since I'm now 78, and have read terrible accounts of chemo, I have held onto the belief that I would do everything to avoid chemo since the treatment appears to be worse than the alternative. But she's really not giving me an alternative, other than

CT urogram
Hi all, when my husband first had symptoms synonymous with Pca he was sent for a CT urogram, we never knew his PSA result, this came back OK. 9 months later an MRI and a subsequent biopsy showed he was Gleason 9 with widespread bone metastasis. Has anyone else had a CT urogram which picked up Pca because

I am still struggling with treatment decisions - Help please.
I am struggling to decide on my treatment. The main point of conflict is HT or not, and LDR Brachytherapy (if I am eligible - because of a previous HOLEP) or IMRT. I also wonder if I should push hard for a 10-day earlier consultation at the risk of bad feeling. I welcome advice. In the UK - Referral

BCF after 9 years post proton therapy
My PSA had been increasing slowly since my nadir of .75 in 2017 reaching 1.19 in 2022. Both RO and Uro weren't terribly concerned. I wanted PSMA after 3rd consecutive increase but both recommended a wait and see approach, especially the RO who seems honor bound to wait for 2.0 over nadir. I skipped

HoLEP Affect on Pca
as posted earlier, I have both BPH (80 cc) and localized prostate cancer. Clear PSMA. I’m having HoLEP surgery. Wonder how this will impact the cancer. How will PSA respond? What happens if HoLEP actually removed the cancer?

Helpful group
Hello All, This group has been very helpful in providing information and suggestions on PC. I was diagnosed in Sept. 23 as Stage 4, Gleason 7 with all core samples testing positive and one met to the sacrum. Just completed 28 rounds of IMRT and have been on Lupron, Xtandi and Zometa for the last two

liver Mets, Pluvicto failed
diagnosed 2021, spread to distant lymph nodes. Castrate resistant within 6 months. Had platinum based chemo. Stabilized for bit. 4 Pluvicto treatments. PSA went from 4 to 70. Latest scans show new mets to liver. Genetic testing shows ATM mutation. Where to go from here?

Focal therapy ?
I'm a patient at MSK in NY, though I live in CT. Am an active healthy 80 yr old who is still working and runs on a treadmill 2-3 miles a day. Briefly, have been on active surveillance since Fall, 2019 with periodic MRIs, biopsies (Gleason 6), etc. Also have BPH (last MRI 95cc). Last Spring PSA started

Update on PSA spike after radiation.
A quick update. Was diagnosed April 2023 PSA of 9. Had Cyberknife in November. 1st PSA (at 60 days was 11.96). This alarmed me. They told me to wait another 6weeks and test. Today it was 9.1. I'm considering this a win for now. Am I wrong?

some not great news/ still a lot unknown
I’ve posted before about my first introductions to prostate cancer: primarily significantly increased PSA yr to yr (3 to 6+). Did the EXODX urine test and score came back 25.9 out of 100 (15.9 being the cut off to keep from proceeding with biopsy, so I figured I’d at least need to do that. ) Finally

Help, bad Decipher results, this changes everything, please advise (NE WI area but will travel)
Hi everyone~ I just wrote recently but this Decipher test seems to have up-ended our lives. My husband, 75, overweight w/Watchman, was dx'ed late Nov. w/what was originally classified as Favorable Risk Intermediate after random biopsy; we went to a urologic oncologist out of Froedtert in Milwaukee

Surgery vs SBRT Cyberknife
I posted this in the Advanced PC group and shouldn't have, as my Hubs is not in an advanced stage. Posting here in hopes of more input! I apologize if you are in the other group and have already seen this! Hubs diagnosed 11/15/23. 2 of 12 positive. Gleason 6 and 7. PSA 3.7-4.2. Met with Surgeon first
