Slippery slope
Well, Christmas is over. For those of you that know me in any way, no matter how little, you'll know that the end of the festive season brings me nothing but joy, intense pleasure that the hideous event has passed. This year, however, the joy is muted. Last weekend of November I broke my toe. Two weeks

Hello All!
So many developments, mostly positive, some annoying, some downright ridiculous! Thought I was having a flare so went to the ER on 12/5/15. Was given a prednisilone infusion, some more protonix for my gastritis (which is awful after 5 months of steroids) and pain relief. Was in and out in 3 hours and

Home, but it's hard..
After 11 days in the hospital, with 2 life-threatening attacks and an allergic reaction in that time, I was discharged yesterday. I'm glad to be home, of course I am..but things really aren't as good as they should be. In the hospital, once I was out of Resus, I was on 4-hourly Ventolin nebs, and 6-

Hi from the hospital!
Back in, lucky escape from ICU this time :/ I was on the wrong dose of my combination inhaler anyway, so I'd been feeling off for a few weeks. Suddenly I woke up at about 2:00am on Monday morning with severe shortness of breath which soon, despite my best efforts with my relievers, turned into a complete

Long term use of amoxicillin
Hi all, I hope this finds you as well as can be expected! I have been proscribed 2 500mg amoxicillin tablets a day for a 3 month period, although they have made the quality of my life so much better I am concerned about taking the tablets over such a long period. Any similar experience with you guys?

Has anyone had experience of having Active b12/MMA test after taking antibiotics please?
Hi, apologies if you've read this on Thyroid site, typed it in earlier thinking I was on B 12 site, so here goes again! I've just finished taking a week of Amoxicillin, which didn't work, then Co-amoxiclav 500mg/125 mg for a week for recurring sinus and inner ear infections. I've just been given a referral

Using antibiotics.
Hi everyone. As we are going into the season for coughs and sneezes and all manner of infectious things, it is worth bearing in mind the effects of antibiotics on AF sufferers. I saw a GP last night with an awful chest/bronchial infection. She prescribed Amoxicillin 55omg 3 times a day for a week. she

I have Bronchiectasis (diagnosed 18 months ago) and life long asthmatic. Suffering repeated lung infections treated by antibiotics usually amoxicillin. Sputum cultures usually come back negative! Have had a bad infection for 2 weeks now and sputum test confirms colonisation with pseudomonas. Dr. Rang

Apixaban and Antibiotics
Has anyone taken Apixaban with the antibiotic Amoxicillin Trihydrate? I am interested in whether the antibiotic over increases the effectiveness of Apixaban, or whether there are any other potential impacts? Thanks. TerryW.
