Three month update
Because of the complications after the ablation I have been on
amiodarone
for nearly four months. I have been really lucky and apart from the horrid dreams I haven't really had any side effects from it and it put me back into NSR at the beginning of June.

All is forgiven
I felt rotten initially and then started the
amiodarone
and after a week started to feel sufficiently well enough to take walks which increased in distance. Woke up Saturday morning and all was normal. Just thought I would share my good news.

Ablation in the morning !!
It's been a long time coming, nearly happened in March but
Amiodarone
sent my thyroid sky high so ablation was cancelled.

Atrial Tachycardia following Ablation for Atrial Fibrillation
Since then I have had numerous DC Cardioversions, a catheter ablation, tried natural remedies and taken the full gourmet of drugs including
Amiodarone
all in a bid to rid myself of this awful condition.

Fed up
Having been on
Amiodarone
for 5 years, I was hoping I could have a change of medication but have been told today that I'm on it for ever. Is this normal?

Amiodarone or Sotalol
Thank you all for your feedback about
Amiodarone
. I went to see EP and only saw his registrar. He jotted down side effects but told me I have to wait till EP comes back from hols. He mentioned Soltalol and said I might be better off on that. I am not a candidate for ablation so thats out.

I was put on
amiodarone
in the hospital after SVT (super ventricular tachycardia). I titered down to 200mg daily after.infusions and 400mg daily. I am on beta blocker with low BP.

Amiodarone
I started taking
Amiodarone
in April, after the first month my cardiologist reduced the dosage from 200mg to 100mg a day, which suits me much better.

Ablation ? Not sure if to proceed now or wait....... Newbeeeeeeee
Recently had another setious episode that again required
amiodarone
infusion to correct. Apparently I probably have other limited bouts but either dont recognise it and put it down to indigestion and palpitations or it doesnt last too long and I come back out of fast AF naturally.

Hello
I have been on the drug for a little over a month with a 15th cardioversion booked for next week should
Amiodarone
not convert me to NSR on its own. Any feedback regarding personal experiences with
Amiodarone
would be very much appreciated. Looking forward to being part of AF Association 😊!

Pace and Ablate in 5 weeks time.
It means that by Christmas I should be off
Amiodarone
and Bisop. and on Anti Coag and Ramipril. One comment from my EP that surprised me was the question of risk. My EP wasn't worried about issues surrounding battery life.

Amiaderone for AF
When searching Amiaderone through the NHS/Patient UK web sites I find in contradiction to what the BHF nurse told me 'Treatment with
amiodarone
is usually long-term unless you experience an adverse effect'.

3 month review after Cox maze
I can stop taking the
amiodarone
and lansoprazole from today, and i am waiting for a slot for the second op; this could be as soon as August 14, depending on the availability of anaesthetists, but at any rate it will be completed before the end of October.

Chemical Cardioversion with Amiodarone part 2: Reporting progress
Therefore, the
Amiodarone
was stimulating the irregularities so I reduced it to 200mg daily. It definitely felt fragile. The doctor wanted me to stay on
Amiodarone
for six months. The compromise was 1-2 months.
