Pace and Ablate Candidatency

I have my appointment with the EP tomorrow. I think my drug option is fairly limited and my AF has broken through the Amiodarone. Currently my QOL is limited. The usual issues (nausea and breathlessness as well as the shadow of long term Amiodarone)

I am hoping that Pace and Ablate is at least an option but have read that not everyone is a candidate.

Question: Has anyone been refused Pace and Ablate ?

Why pace and ablate that should be a last option. Have your tried an ablation or have they not worked. I would not jump on pace and ablate before just a regular ablation or even say a Cox mini maze if ablation didn't work.

P&A wouldn't have been first choice however structural problems within my heart rule out ablation and no one has mentioned a Cox mini maze.
