Allergic reaction to Amiodarone
I have been taking
Amiodarone
for 1 year and since May 2022 every time I go in the sun my skin starts to itch. Does anyone else have this problem? (I have persistent AF and I am on the waiting list for an ablation).

Tavi declined by Consultant, but medical records maybe incorrect!
I was first diagnosed with aortic stenosis in 2016, since then I’ve been on 20mg of Furosemide and one
amiodarone
200mg. The cardiologist tells me I have a strong left ventricle function. I had an echo done, I’ve been told the valve is now more rigid and she mentions a TAVI procedure.

Amiodarone
I had a pacemaker/defib fitted Monday and immediately placed on Amiodorone. The only warning I got about this drug was to avoid sunlight (just my luck its not mid-winter). Two things, how much sunlight is too much and are hands affected? I am donning long sleeves, trousers and wide brimmed hat

Taken off amiodarone
Just to let people know that I have been told to stop taking amiodorane. I've persevered for 7 days but the nausea is now so bad that I cannot keep water down. I'm told it should take just a few days to get out of my system. My heart rate had also gone down to 50. I'm waiting for my cardiologist

amiodarone video
i mentioned yesterday a video where the cardiologist said how FEW problems he has with amiadarone. It might be reassuring for people needing to use https://youtu.be/5AGmUKE

Amiodarone
My EP is suggesting that I try
amiodarone
. My history is of 3 ablations, 2016, 2018, 2020. Last one finally touched up the scars that had “failed” - so the afib seems to be gone. But they couldn’t trigger my tachycardia during the ablation.

Before tI had my HR testing kit I couldn’t measure the HR but I had episodes of a feeling if suffocating or drowning and I have been out on meds to control my HR to keep it lower Bisoprolol and I have
Amiodarone
and this doesn’t happen but before I had to walk around my garden at night trying to duck

Update ablation
I have also dropped 10 pounds in 3 weeks Anyone taking
Amiodarone
200mg? Any tips? So behind every thunder cloud is a glimmer of a ray of sunshine ( my new cardiologist). Take care and I hope my other ablation buddies are doing OK 🤞🤞 xx

exhaustion upon activity
I have been taking meds for Afib for the past 6 years , started on
amiodarone
(which started okay but increasingly affected my balance and caused a feeling of nausea ) ….was ablated and went on to flecanaide which has felt better but became out of rhythm on and off and have subsequently now been put

The Story So Far
Change to
Amiodarone
. ( I am reluctant to do this) 2. Pacemaker. 3. A further procedure which was described as ‘going up through the diaphragm’. I assume this to be external Maze? AF really does rule your life. Fit as a fiddle one minute but feel quite unwell the next.

To Ab or not to Ab
I've been NSR for over a year on a low 200mg dose of
Amiodarone
(none of the numerous other drugs we tried worked) and the doctor has left it up to me whether I want to have an ablation or wait a year or so. Thanks for reading. Mike

3 Months Post 1st Ablation
Had some funny looks on the way back home as I had to walk slowly 😅 I stopped my
Amiodarone
1 month post ablation on 28th June 2022 - Before the ablation I was having multi daily episodes of fast AF lasting sometimes 10-15 mins or up to 6 hrs, nights were a horror, I couldn't believe my heart could

Afib heat laser Ablation
My cardiologist has recommended an ablation for the 21st of July since
Amiodarone
is toxic to some people if taken too long so I'm wondering if anyone on here has had an ablation when in medication induced NSR for awhile and if your Afib came back after the procedure.

Update on my big decision not to have fourth ablation
I refused and asked for
Amiodarone
but we agreed to wait and see. Then in June I was back in A&E again but this time it self-resolved after four hours (HR 'only' 145this time). There seemed to be some confusion at the EP's hospital over whether it was Afl or Afib.

Eight and a half weeks post ablation
Finally
Amiodarone
was administered intravenously. I protested my previous experience with it wasn't good but an anonymous cardiologist said there was no choice. I've never seen a heart monitor drop to zero before and hope never to again!
