I never did need this drug as my ablation came more quickly than I expected but I was told that, if it hadn't, amiodarone was the next step. I recently read a large study which showed it is used differently these days and was very safe and effective.

From what I read, the modern dosages are far lower and this has made all the difference but still leaving it highly effective. It seems it’s the most widely used anti-arrhythmic drug in the world and is especially popular in the UK and the rest of Europe.
