Hi Buster
Difficult question of yours. I think it would be a good idea to call your pharmacist and ask their advice. As you've said, Amiodarone stays in the system for such a long time.

Good Morning, thank you for your message posted on the Forum. It is advisable to contact your doctor or pharmacist for medical advice on transitioning between medications. They have access to your own personal medical records and will be able to advise the correct course of action to take. If you feel you would like further information or support regarding AF, please visit our AF Association webpage heartrhythmalliance.org/afa... or contact our patient services team for help. info@afa-us.org
You need medical advice. Drug cross over is a serious issue. I had to 48 hours "wash out" time to switch from flecainide to dronedarone. Contact the arrhythmia nurse or your consultant via his secretary. Write down what they tell you so it's clear in your head (if you are gormless like me and get flustered and forget)
I have done it three times. The change was instant. The only question is the dose of flecainide and you will need to discuss this with the doctor and remind them to reduce the dose for a year or so.
