For years I managed my weight fine with Adkins diet (low carb). Sometime around 2000 my general practitioner discovered I was hypothyroid & prescribed Levo (don't remember the amount). I was doing fine, but suddenly, in 2016 I began gaining weight for no reason at all!!! I am now up to 185 lbs.!!

Aching Joints
Hi all. I started Levoxine in late August. Currently on 100mcg and T3 and T4 are now in range with TSH around 0.98. History previously hyper now hypo and positive TgAB). However I am getting aching joints a lot on and off and a lot of fatigue. Looking back a lot of these symptoms started just over one

Pharmacist blocking prescription
I just want to have a rant. For 30 years I have had the usual frustrations of doctors constantly trying to reduce my dose but nothing has compared to this latest scenario. I put in my usual repeat prescription request with plenty of time because pharmacy needs a week now. It was blocked so I phone the

Choosing pharmacy to get Thybon Henning
Hi all, I have a private perscription from endo to get Thybon Henning. He recommended Springfield Pharmacy but I was really put off by their abruptness on the phone when I called (and I just had a couple of questions ie where Thybon came from, rough idea of cost) ... and he wouldnt even give me any

Cancer sufferer T3 below range, T4 50%, TSH 1.6 advice
Hello wise caring people. On one result, looks like they are a poor converter. My best pal is probably loosing battle with cancer - mid 60s male. He had radiation treatment on throat cancer 3 1/2 years ago. Treatment now stopped and has a lymph node node issue that is not responding, after throat

optimal ranges
I’m using the Thyroid calculator I saw posted somewhere on here and I’m just wondering if there is an ‘optimal % range’ not the drs ranges, that I can compare mine to, also is there an ‘optimal’ T4:T3 ratio. I appreciate its very individual but just looking for a guide.

Endo appointment, need NDT
I'm just waiting on an endo appointment (T4, T3 have not worked for me, nearly 4 years of chopping and changing meds by gp/endo). Because of gut/stomach issues (malabsorbtion) diarrhoea, cramps, inflammation) I spoke to a parathyroid /thyroid surgeon on Wednesday (with her for primary hyperparathyroidism

Low T3 and diabetes risk
I have just read this in depth article on the diabetes U.K. website which clearly states that Low thyroid function is associated with an increased risk of diabetes and pre diabetes. Low T3 increases the risk. The risk is increased even if T3 is low in range. Insulin secretion requires good levels

Hello lovely, knowledgeable folks - belated 'Happy New Year' to you all! After an increase of levothyroxine (LT) in November 2023 from 50 mcg/ day to 75 mcg/day, I had back-to-back tests on 02 Jan. (Medichecks - professional blood draw) and 03 Jan. (NHS), to see comparable results. Both tests were

How long for ANA/ENA results?
I've had quite a few symptoms of what my GP suspects might be a CTD, spanning back about 10 years but lots more cropping up more recently. She's requested (I think) an ANA test and I understand from googling that if the ANA is positive it then gets sent for ENA testing as well? I'm not sure what the

Hi Everyone I’ve been plagued by RLS for just on 30 Years now. 15 years untreated ( what hell that was), and the last 15 years on Pramipexole. This worked pretty well for me, although I’ve had to steadily increase the dose, and therefore the side effects. My GP is happy for me to reduce the Pramipexole

Blood test results in full. Can anyone find a cause in there for my continued fatigue etc?
I still have the same symptoms, although some have improved a bit, but not gone, by any means. Still housebound. I list below Blood test results. Can anyone suggest an issue that may cause my symptoms because my GP says no action, normal. Serum 25 - HO Vit D3 level 135nmol/L 50-174

Sussex hospitals no longer giving fT4 result on thyroid function tests
Hello, Writing this post in case it helps prepare others rather than for advice (but feel free to advise if you wish!). I had a blood test last Friday not because of hypothyroidism but the test included "thyroid function". My results came back with just TSH being reported, no fT4 as I have been used

Increase needed but do I increase T4 or T3?
I have added liothyronine to my levothyroxine. My latest results indicate that an increase in one or the other is needed. Medichecks and Monitor My Health use the same ranges. 18.8.23 Medichecks (112.5 mcg levothyroxine only) TSH 0.101 mu/L (0.27-4.2) FT3 3.9 pmol/L (3.1-6.8) 21.62% through

Premature cardiac risk
“20” percent of humans have elevated lipoprotein (a), putting them at risk for heart attack, stroke, and aortic stenosis. Unfortunately, only 3/10 of a percent (.3 percent ) of U.S. primary care physicians ever test their patients, unlike physicians in the EU and Canada. The link below will offer more

Latest Thyroid Results
My ‘thyroid journey’ has been an interesting one and now approaching its 4th year. I’m fairly convinced I don’t have autoimmune thyroid disease and relatively confident my adrenals play a big part in my symptoms, however it’s not just adrenals as I’ve tested myself on HC solo and it doesn’t work. Aaanyway
