Post ADHD Diagnosis Struggles
Taking 30 mg of
Adderall
XR a day and seeing a therapist bi-weekly. Both of which have helped, but I continue to struggle accepting the diagnosis. Personal accounts I've read describe post diagnosis feelings of relief. I feel sad, confused, and honestly still skeptical.

Changing meds
My son is 8 and takes
Adderall
XR 10mg. We thought it was helping but I am just not sure it is the right medication. His appetite is poor and not sleeping well lately. Doctor suggested Remeron to help with sleep and appetite? Anyone ever try it? Did it help?

I'm currently taking 40 IR
adderall
but after a few days I stop focusing. Does anyone else have this problem?? I still have 11 20 ER so tomorrow I will try taking 20 ER with a 20 IR to see if that will work any better. Please let me know how
adderall
is working or not working for you!

School Behavior and Medication
Is this normal when taking
Adderall
? Should I call the doctor to change the med again or give it a few more days? Medication is new journey for us but especially my little guy. Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Medication change
Adderall
is in with opioid, class II list, of which I was on for 14 years. Initially got on it for social anxiety, stuttering, finding words, energy, organization, concentration, but had to get off "cold turkey". Doc prescribed Lexapro.

New to this & new to ADHD
I’m taking
Adderall
xr 10 mg , I still find myself distracted . I’m also on Zoloft for my anxiety . I’ve been on concerta but that made me feel sleepy and exhausted, moved to
Adderall
xr 5mg and was fine but a few weeks later I was back to being distracted.

New to ADHD
My second grader just started
Adderall
for primarily inattentive ADHD. I’ve been questioning his focus for a couple of years now; last fall he started karate partly to build focus skills. While he has made progress, he is starting to really struggle in school, which led me to take this step.

6 year old first week on meds
He was prescribed
Adderall
over the summer so we decided this would be the week we would start. We used the weekend to observe because we didn't know what to expect.

Acceptable side effects
We first tried
Adderall
- she seems to have had some gains at school but she lost weight (she is already tiny) and said that it made her feel sick. With dosages over 5mg she became a zombie. We moved to Vyvanse this week.

Jobs that suit inattentive type
Adderall
and Vyvanse had to many side affects such as anxiety and aggression. I’m in my mid fifties now struggling with menopause as well. What a disastrous combination. I’ve had three jobs in the past two years that I’ve quit due to anxiety.

Neurological examination?
I am taking 10mg at
adderall
xr. All I can say is: Life. Changing. (!) Next step is formal diagnosis with a neurological examination. What is that like? What can I expect? Thank you! I don’t want to worry myself to death over it 😅

Do decreased side effects mean med is not working as well?
She also read that you can become addicted to
Adderall
so now I think she's afraid to go up in dose b/c she might become addicted. I explained (hopefully accurately!)

Methylphenidate SR (extended release Ritalin) How long until I know if it works?
I asked my doc about dexamphetamine (I phrased it vyvanse without the lysine) but I was told he doesn't prescribe
Adderall
to adults. (I'm aware that d-amphetimine is NOT
Adderall
). I could have a form of Ritalin or try a non stimulate.

I need my adderall, but NJ cracked down.
I was diagnosed about 30 years ago, and have been happily taking
adderall
as directed, with no ill effects ever since, except my state NJ has now cracked down on various drugs, and I'm having extreme trouble finding a Dr who will write it for me now.

10 mg of Adderall.
How many days does it take for 10 mg of
Adderall
to work? I read somewhere that it was supposed to kick in after about 40 minutes. I took my first
Adderall
about 2 hours ago and I don’t feel any kick-in. I actually feel nothing. Maybe I need to wait few days. Any thoughts on this?

Where is my mind?
Saturday I started taking a whole 10 MG
Adderall
tablet and found that it seemed to silence my inner voice that likes to say mean and hateful things to me. I took all of my medication, including
Adderall
, and today has been going well. Until now.

Find a prescriber without insurance
Meanwhile, I've run out of my ADD meds (I take
Adderall
). With it being a controlled substance, my prescriber in my previous state (350 miles away) cannot subscribe it over the phone or call it into a pharmacy. I have to see someone in person.

Bad dreams and ADHD
He currently takes
adderall
and Guanfacine. He still has bad dreams that wake him at night and in turn effect his sleep. I'm not sure if his bad dreams are related to ADHD or possibly undiagnosed anxiety. Has anyone else experienced this? How were you able to help your child with bad dreams?

Eradicating Adderall Forever
I've been realizing that I can wake up, go to work at the office, take a 250mg Armodafinil to get me going (though it's definitely nothing like taking my
Adderall
) and be ok. Not great, but ok.
