Vertebral fractures
However, the GP is convinced this is steroid induced despite the fact than mum has taken
Adcal
every day for the last 6 years too and, for the last year, Alendronic Acid which her rehumatologist prescribed given she had been on steroids for a long while.

Taking Alendronic Acid and Adcal.
I have Valvular Heart Disease,Angina and COPD. I also have Calcified Blood Vessels. I was reading that if you have Calcified Blood Vessels you might be better off by not taking any Calcium tablets. I'm not sure what to do about it, whether or not to take the Calcium tablets or not. I know that none

Rheumy telephone appointment earlier
Soooo she wants me to start methotrexate 15mg, folic acid and
adcal
on top of the Sulfasalazine. She wanted me to go for injections but honestly the idea of injecting myself is too scary for words. I really don’t think I could do it so we are going the pills route.

Calcified blood vessels and main arteries. But still taking Adcal and Alendronic Acid Tablets because of Osteoporosis.
In the brochure it said that people that had Calcified blood vessels should question whether or not they should be taking Calcium Tablets such as
Adcal
or Alendronic Acid. To which I am taking both..I take the Calcium tablets because I have Osteoporosis.

Steroids - Everything you need to know!
This is why we often get
adcal
-D3/calcium/alendronic acid tablets, to help slow/prevent this from happening. Glaucoma - increased eye pressures. Blurry vision, halos, headaches and eye pain/tenderness. If you’re concerned see your local optician and they can test for it. Cataract- cloudy lens.

Signs of flares and duration of tapering doses
I was diagnosed with GCA in January.I am on 40 mgs of prednisolone daily with accompanying meds omeprazole, low dose aspirin,
Adcal
, Alendronic Acid, Statins. I am also taking Ursodeoxylic Acid (for PBC) wondered what symptoms you have experienced when tapering your dose of Pred?

More advice please
Can I ask if anybody S taking
Adcal
D3 along with Pred? My GP has asked me to consider taking it. It's a calcium carbonate and vitamin D3 chewable obtained under prescription. However it does come with side effects.

PMR still here
Bone Density Scan to check the Pred is not causing too many problems. ( take
Adcal
daily). Always wondered what the average number of flares people have over a year. Always nice to come on here with so many friendly, helpful people.

Because of the osteopenia, she's prescribed
Adcal
but I've not read anything good about this! I did wonder about taking it but continuing the D3/K2 that I currently take. Does this sound a good idea? I also take zinc, selenium, magnesium, b12 and b complex. Any thoughts?

Advice please?
I was prescribed
adcal
, vitamin D and alendronic acid. I stopped
adcal
pretty quickly as I got terrible indigestion with it. I didn't really get on with alendronic acid (gut problems) and was switched to risendronate in January 2019.

Can I drop AdCal as long as I'm taking high dose Vitamin D?
GP thinks that I don't need to go back on to the
AdCal
but can continue with Vit D and high calcium diet. But the osteoporosis nurse whom I saw after my last Dexascan had been advocating return
AdCal
and possibly Prolia or similar. Any advice please?

Contraindications Vit K2 and Low dose aspirin
Following a recent episode of kidney stones I decided to drop
AdCal
and take a high dose Vitamin D as I have a calcium rich diet. Several people recommended Vitamin K2 and I have these now but wondered whether there is a conflict between K2 7 and the aspirin.
