Actermra and Pred tapering.
My Rheumatologist has said he will have me off prednisone altogether by the end of the year after 7 monthly infusions of
Actemra
. When I questioned this he told me that
Actemra
facilitates reducing pred but now I am wondering if I should taper at a slower level?

natural treatments
The next medicine we will try is
Actemra
. I have also hired a nurse who works for medical cannabis who prescribed a tincture for me to try. I have always been very sensitive to medicine. My fear is the prednisone was the only thing that actually helped thus far.

I’d like to introduce myself
Next I was put on
Actemra
. Bingo! Relief! Only it dramatically lowered my white count. But it really really worked , I was put on Nuprogen injections to bring up the white count....except, the Nuprogen caused a 3 day flare.

HELP...TCA,PMR, FIBRO Actemra
My doctor told me you cannot have a flare on
Actemra
. Did anyone else have return of TCA symptoms while on
Actemra
though inflammatory markers were fine. These array of symptoms can be so confusing.

Actemra and hair loss
Kia ora I have been on monthly infusions of Actermra for 6 months now and recently noticed daily hair loss and that my hair has become straighter. I am wondering if anyone had any experience of this or suggestions to minimise this?

Slight puffy face at 4 mgs. Prednisone and skin breakout on face.
I’m on
Actemra
and was under the belief my pain would just go away but 38 shots later and I still take pain medication. I thought 36 years of fibromyalgia was dreadful but compared to this disease, that was a walk in the park. I have a rheumatologist appt. Tuesday and hope she has some answers.

PMR, shoulder, arm injuries
I have been on
Actemra
for a year while tapering the prednisone down to 3m. I remember some of you posting of rotator cuff injuries. I think I have such an injury and will know more when I see the doctor on Monday. I feel like I am in a flare....or did the flare precipitate the injury?

butt pain
Since then I've also been diagnosed with GCA, started on 65 mgs of prednisone, and have tapered to 40, I'm also on the
Actemra
injection once a week. My question is at 40 mgs, the butt pain is back, and it HURTS! today I increased to 45 mgs and the pain is much better.......

GCA and tocilizumab withdrawal
Has anyone given up taking tocilizumab (
Actemra
) and remained in remission or did you get GCA back. Is there a program to reduce injections in stages?

Third Actemra Infusion
Could these little bit of symptoms just be due to my being at the end of my monthly
Actemra
infusions and ready for the next one? Is this normal?

Scoop on latest rheumi visit.
He showed me my CPR history on a graph, and seemed happy with the results of the
Actemra
injections. Too happy, maybe, and too confident in the efficacy of
Actemra
.

Body Pain
Also taking weekly
Actemra
injection without side effects. Prior to developing GCA/PMR I was a fibromyalgia patient since 1982. As bad as I thought fibromyalgia was it was truly a walk in the park compared to this disease. My spine, hip and back pain is unrelentless.

Tapering and lab results - do the stars always align?
The only time I ever achieved normal inflammation markers was when I was on
Actemra
. They were 0 and I loved seeing that. Today all my other labs CBC, AST, ALT, and creatine are well within normal range.
