NICE Approves Acalabrutinib (Calquence) for specified groups of CLL patients in England
As a charity we were very disappointed with this and advocated that
Acalabrutinib
should be available for all untreated CLL patients and we will continue to advocate that that should be the case.

New to Acalabrutinib
However, because my neutrophil count has been very low for the last couple of years, my oncologist suggested starting on
Acalabrutinib
to reduce the risk for a potential severe bacterial infection.

I'm sure someone has written abt this but just in case: https://www.europeanpharmaceuticalreview.com/news/147977/new-oral-chronic-lymphocytic-leukaemia-treatment-made-available-on-nhs/ I know this has been around for a while in the US but nice to see progress all the time in the UK. Low body temperature and low grade chills on acalabrutinib.
I am on
acalabrutinib
since September 1st. My blood counts are moving in a right direction, but my spleen did not shrink much , and I feel fullness in my abdomen area. The other major concern is my low body temperature, sometimes 34 and below, (or 94 and below) .with low grade chills.

Does anyone has enlarged liver on acalabrutinib?
I am wondering if anyone has enlarged liver on
acalabrutinib
. I am on
acalabrutinib
since September 1st. My blood tests are much improved, but I feel now more pressure on the right side than the left side. Can
acalabrutinib
effect liver? My spleen decreased only slightly from 21 cm to 17cm.

Clinical trial with Acalabrutinib and Obinutuzumab
The targeted therapy is
Acalabrutinib
and Obinutuzumab. I would appreciate hearing from people that have had these two drugs. What was your experience? I am struggling with the decision of whether to participate in the trial. Thanks.

Acalabrutinib exhibits comparable efficacy, superior safety to ibrutinib for CLL (finally!)
[i]Positive high-level results from the ELEVATE-RR Phase III trial showed AstraZeneca’s Calquence (
acalabrutinib
) met the primary endpoint demonstrating non-inferior progression-free survival (PFS) for adults with previously treated, high-risk chronic lymphocytic leukaemia (CLL) compared to ibrutinib

Re vaccine and outcome for CLL you might find this interesting
., ibrutinib,
acalabrutinib
) were less likely to make antibodies after vaccination. Those patients with less IgA antibodies in their blood in general (meaning they struggle to make antibodies to many diseases) were also less likely to form antibodies after vaccination.

Reduced dose Acalabrutinib
Acalabrutinib
keeps my CLL in check but gives me neutropenia. One strategy would be to cut the usual dose in half to 100 mg/day. Does anyone have experience with this dose? Is it possible that a dose that low could be effective?

Looking for a fifth line of CLL treatment
I’m 55 and on my fourth line of treatment in 4 years: BR, Ibrutinib, Venetoclax,
Acalabrutinib
. And it looks like I’ll need a fifth soon. The
acalabrutinib
keeps the CLL in check but gives me neutropenia. Stopping acalacbrutinib for a week raised my ANC from 0.6 to 2.0.
