Bleeding after salvage radiation
Currently about one year into Lupron +
Abiraterone
+ prednisone. Recently experienced very mild rectal and/or blood in stool. Is this likely due to the radiation, or something else?

Androstenedione & Frailty
As such, production is inhibited by
Abiraterone
(which targets the enzyme that acts on progesterone and pregnenolone.) Adrenal andro production is controlled by ACTH (adrenocorticotropic hormone). Gonadal andro production is inhibited by ADT.

Happy Thanksgiving Eve
si=JPeepmKsrlzyNL0E Silly Kaiser thinks that
Abiraterone
is chemo and won't mail it, so gotta go down to Bakersfield monthly to get it, but this time I brought Chocolate covered Macadamia Nuts for the AIS Cancer Center Onco and Radiation staff.

Blood in urine and clotting 3 weeks after starting Zytiga
I believe the
Abiraterone
is working as I feel less pain so I would like to stay on it. My oncologist wanted to do PSA after 6 weeks. I haven’t yet contacted her regarding the bleeding. Is there any treatment to stop bleeding? Is more water helpful? Thanks

TA Stampede Trial Q
Hey Tall guy When "3 years of ADT and 2 years of
abiraterone
is standard-of-care" How is that timed? Start ADT and Abi together, and stop Abi at 2 years leaving ADT by itself for the last year? How would that work in my case? I started ADT and Abi at the same time, then RT after 6 months.

Clinical Trial Considerations??
The ADT adds niraparib to the traditional
abiraterone
, prednisone, and leuprolide mix. Niraparib (a PARP inhibitor) was recently FDA approved for prostate cancer treatment, primarily for men with castration-resistant cancer. It’s been used with cervical and ovarian cancer.

ONCT-534 Earns FDA Fast Track Designation in R/R Metastatic CRPC
“The receipt of fast track designation for ONCT-534 supports our belief that patients with [metastatic] CRPC who relapse after treatment with androgen receptor pathway inhibitors [ARPIs] such as enzalutamide [Xtandi] or
abiraterone
[Zytiga], represent an important unmet medical need,” James Breitmeyer

If it doesn't make you feel bad, is it working?
He has "failed" both apalutamide and
abiraterone
and is officially castrate resistant. Initial diagnosis was such that he was not offered triple therapy (he was low volume in Feb 2022). After the second treatment, his PSA had gone down to 22 from 41. After the third, it had increased to 25.

Advice Needed, Abiraterone Failing?
I started
Abiraterone
in November 2022 and my recent monthly PSA readings have been 5.65, 5.37, 6.11, 5.67, 5.66, 5.64, 6.41, 6.96, and 8.20ng/ml while taking
Abiraterone
. My consultant informs me my PC is very aggressive and hard to deal with. He also told me he sees my type in about 1 in 100 men.

FYI: New data on progression of visceral mets without PSA progression (discordance) and ARAT/docetaxel therapy
.,
abiraterone
and enzalutamide) may be susceptible to discordant progression. With the incorporation of early ARAT in SOC, we may see this number rise.

Abiraterone and heart failure
husband has had to go on
Abiraterone
earlier than we thought as the 6 sessions of chemo failed to do anything for his bone mets. We’re aware that med leaflets have to list every possible side effect but the Abi leaflet says 1 out of 10 people will get heart failure when taking it!!!

Rechallenging with a previously failed treatment?
Now there are treatments/trials combining Olaparib with another med like
Abiraterone
, which I had also previously failed as a mono therapy. Could a combo now possibly benefit me??? The answer may simply be that you won't know until you try.
