New Abiraterone (Zytiga) formulation
A promising new oil-base oral formulation of
Abiraterone
in the works! Claims to improve the drug's "effectiveness by 40 per cent". For me, the mention of side effect improvement of joint swelling and diarrhea, is great. https://www.eurekalert.org/pub_releases/2020-06/uosa-bdt061920.php

Xtandi to Zytiga
I started Zytiga (
Abiraterone
) 28 days ago and just received my first lab...PSA jumped to 14.16. That put a scare in me. Can anyone relate to this large jump or does that say that Zytiga is not going to work for me and that I’d better get on to another treatment? Thank you for your time!

PSA Drop After ADT Holiday
After an 8 month holiday from Lupron/
Abiraterone
my PSA rose to 0.55 from a nadir at 0.01. After resuming ADT for a bit more than a month my PSA has dropped to 0.02. I didn’t expect such a sharp reduction. Is this to be expected, assuming I remained hormone sensitive?

Rosuvastatin [Crestor] and Abiraterone [Zytiga]
Management and outcome: Rhabdomyolysis was resolutive after rosuvastatin and
abiraterone
discontinuation, and kidney function recovered. There was no recurrence of muscle toxicity after re-initiation of
abiraterone
alone.

Final 5-yr Survival analysis in the PREVAIL trial.
Enzalutamide reduced the hazard of death by 17% (hazard ratio 0.83; 95% confidence interval [CI] 0.75-0.93; p < 0.001), despite 65%, 54%, and 43% of placebo-treated patients receiving subsequent docetaxel,

Latest PSA whilst on Abiraterone
Previous months : 4.2, 6. 6, 12.9 Been on
Abiraterone
since January 2020. Also on Lupron, Metformin, and Lipitor. I'm a bit concerned that I'm already at a plateau with
Abiraterone
. I believe that I read on HU that chemos now may get the action of
Abiraterone
to be more effective.

PCa patients can benefit from 5-alpha-reductase Inhibitors.
Hence the continued interest in the AR axis, & the development of
Abiraterone
[Zytiga] & Enzalutamide [Xtandi]. The ultimate targets of AR axis-based therapy are DHT access to the AR, & AR translocation to the nucleus of the cell. It is therefore plausible that a 5ARI might have a useful role.

My story - so far
I was given the option to choose between chemotherapy and
Abiraterone
. I did my homework (which this forum was essential for it) and decided to go with
Abiraterone
. The side effects of chemotherapy had a big part in my decision to go with
Abiraterone
.

Bipolar Androgen Therapy in Prostate Cancer.
More recent trials showed a further increase in overall survival when enzalutamide or
abiraterone
are associated with androgen deprivation therapy in hormone-sensitive disease.

Vertigo
My PSA has been creeping up and my MO says we may go to
Abiraterone
, which I believe doesn't have the seizure risk.

Apalutamide rash
I switched off
abiraterone
due to liver enzyme issues. Have been on apalutamide for about two months and suddenly developed a rash all over my body. I'm told I'll get over it eventually. Right now using a prescription cream. Anyone else get thru this and have input/advice?. Thanks
