Steroid withdrawal
Have been on
Abatacept
(my fourth biologic) since April and done really, really well - felt fab and RA free (almost ) for months but then asked to start reducing steroids slowly to try to come off altogether in the future.

Feeling blue
In the last 14 months I've had rituximab, toxciclumab,
abatacept

Fatigue
I have
abatacept
weekly injections. I've been back at work for 2 months following an absence of 6 months. I've suffered from fatigue before but this seems to be getting worse. I've reduced my work to 3 days but seemingly hasn't improved this.

Leflunomide and how long it's taken to work?
I've tried Hydroxy, Cimzia and
Abatacept
and then the Toci. I'm also taking meloxicam and preds right now whilst I'm trying to find the right drugs for me. My consultant felt that changing tact and trying Leflunomide with the mtx might be worth a go.

Abatacept will be my 5th biologic 😕
Absolutely petrified of starting this new med as I reacted so badly to the last one and ended up in an ambulance to A&E. I wish I could cope without the treatments but know for a fact I cant. Had two days not able to walk and use my hands so it's a must. As anyone had good results from this injection

Shingles
I had my first infusion of
abatacept
Friday before last. Second one is this Thursday. Am also on 20 mg methotrexate, plus hydroxychloroquine and amatripyline. I was told to avoid anybody with chickenpox or shingles.

Tocilizamab infusions/injections advice please ...
I've previously tried 2 other biologics, Cimzia and
Abatacept
which didn't help enough. I always injections at night but on one occasion I forgot and injected the following morning. All that day I felt awful, similar to the post infusion side effects but it only lasted about 12 hours.

Just got to keep going.....
Abatacept
plus MTX was working great for me earlier on in the year. I had a throat infection for a short while, stopped meds for a couple of weeks. But in that time the RD just went mental and refused to be kicked back down, even with oodles of steroid injections.

Tocilizumab and side effects
This is my third biological having failed on Cimzia and
Abatacept
. I didn't have any problems with them. I always injected at night except on one occasion when I forgot to take it and took it first thing the next morning and I did feel washed out after that, so I probably slept it off every time.

All change....
Seems the
abatacept
doesn't suit me so he was very helpful, so new plan : continue with the radiotherapy on hands, stop
abatacept
and start Ritiximab . Continue leflunomide and re commence mtx and folic acid . Blood work next week.
