3rd Workout Advent : CBDBโ€™s Weekly Countdown to Xmas

And I see on our sister forums some other Christmas activities going on, from winter runs to Christmas Bingo. So big wave ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿฝ to our sister/brother forums: Couch to 5k; Bridge to 10k; Marathon Running and Active 10.๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿฝ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿฟ๐Ÿ‘‹๐Ÿป๐Ÿ‘‹

Back to our seasonal Strength and Flex challenge: This week another workout focussing on some props.

Full introduction of this 4 week plan from last Sunday is pinned, but again in short: join me in counting down to Xmas. Each Sunday thereโ€™ll be a weekly list of workouts, you choose two or add your own. Elf workouts will also feature, that is at least one video workout will have a Christmas theme!

This is a bit of an unusual one. Youโ€™ll need a long foam roller and two small balls, Iโ€™d think tennis balls would do. Possible the smallest dumbbells you gave.

The combination of music and Pilates looks intriguing, but itโ€™s probably not a workout that you can follow along easily.

But Iโ€™m up for it, and am really keen to try this.

Ok, this looks like an intensive 30 min, so not for the faint hearted. It also has some jumping jacks, so not exactly low impact. But for those of you who consider yourself capable of advanced or intermediate intensity workouts, this might just be your thing!

This was so much fun when I first did that more than a year ago. And according to my partner, he was ready to throw roses at my feet seeing me belly dance! ๐ŸŒน๐Ÿ’ƒ๐ŸŒน So I canโ€™t guarantee you will find rose petals at your feet afterwards, but I can guarantee you will have had fun!

After a pretty pants week last week (too much to do, too little time!) I am definitely up for a better effort this week. I used to belly dance before we moved to Wales, and have done the belly dance workout before so DEFINITELY up for that one ๐Ÿ˜ƒ

I also found a retro workout that I used to do all the time back in the day, until the video died on me. It's called the Y Plan Countdown and was a 30 day programme that took you from zero to a pretty good level of body tone. Anyway, you can't get the whole programme any more, but I found the maintaining programme on You Tube and I'm in love all over again - so this will be my other exercise this week. Not sure if I can do everything, but I'll modify what I can't manage and hopefully improve as the week goes on.

Now, be warned, it's very "Dallas" but the workout is actually tougher than you would imagine - especially for a chubby 62 year old like me!

I'm still doing a 5k run 2/3 times a week in the gym, so feeling quite motivated. Imight change up after Christmas though and try a couple of long jogs and a Fartlek in the middle too - wish me luck ๐Ÿคช
