So yesterday, on Global Running Day, I was thinking again about morning stretches. I used to feel quite stiff first thing in the morning, so I ran through a series of little morning stretch routines, which all helped. Some long, some short. But all geared up to make you feel great in the morning.
Nowadays, I don’t feel stiff anymore, my ankles are not aching and my joints feel great. I’m sure that’s all to do with a combination of nutrition, avoiding certain foods (gluten and dairy), running regularly and most of all doing Yoga or Pilates daily.
But at the time I put these workouts together, and then tried them over a timespan of 2 weeks (and this was in my pre Yoga-era) I used to wake up feeling a bit stiff, so I stretch my legs a bit to get going. And doing these really helped.
So that’s what this post is all about. For anyone in need to discover their favourite in-bed or morning mat stretch routines, try these and by the end of it let us know your preferred routine!
So let us know which ones you prefer, and why! And if you have any recommendations of your own, let us know!
