One legged bra wrestling ....

... great for foot, leg and glute strength 😍. Running late this morning - too long in bed reading HU posts - so started my foot rehab routine while brushing my teeth. It's a 20 min routine so carried on as best I could while getting dressed - hence the one legged sports bra wrestling session, great for challenging your balance 🀣

I did see something from Abi the other day about putting your shoes on while standing on one leg - anyone got any more good tips for building strength and flex into busy lives whilst doing everyday stuff?

Hi linda9389 ...when I'm using the vacuum in my front room, there is just enough space between the sofa and the fireplace for me to lunge forward with the vac infront of me, that stretches everything from my arms to my calves and also, when i'm going up the stairs on every other step I do a heel drop...great for stretching the legs...haven't had the pleasure of the one legged bra wrestling though!!

I do loads of weird moves/stretching at work. I'm constantly pulling my shoulders back, neck or shoulder rotations, hip thrusts, lunges, quad stretches...

When brushing teeth I stand on one leg, I also put one foot up on the loo or bath edge to stretch.

When fuelling up my truck I stand on the kerb edge by the pump foot heel drops and stretching against the kerb (foot up and leaning in)

Heel drops are proving popular πŸ˜€. Waiting for the kettle is another good balancing time πŸ˜€

The only thing tougher than wrestling into a sports bra is wrestling OUT of one 🀬

Stand on one leg while you clean your teeth in the morning. Do squats while you clean your teeth at night.🀣

Squats at night? crikey that sounds committed! Kudos to you 🀣

Brilliant!!! I have this image of you doing your foot exercises whilst brushing your teeth... I do squats when I brush mine too!

There are others ...

Butt lifts while cooking... squats folding the laundry...if you are sitting down doing any chore.. writing stuff or even on the comp... abdominal twists...window cleaning is a doozy!!!

If you have a corridor at home/work do walking lunges along it - oh must try that myself on non s &f days

Our house is pretty small so I could probably sign up to that at home! On the other hand, I work outdoors (gardener) so maybe I don't want to sign up to doing it at work .... πŸ˜‚

Grannyhugs profile image
Grannyhugs in reply to linda9389

Oh definitely do it outdoors πŸ˜‰ you could do squats every time you bend down to pick up gardening equipment

Poor you. But longer time to think up new runs and that wonderful s &f routine you will start when you get home πŸ˜‰

Weather quite changeable here so will get in some more runs hopefully. We are going with the family up into the Rockies on Friday for a week and will soak in the natural hot springs! So all good!

At work when I remember to take screen breaks (guidance is take a break of 5 mins every hour) I stand up from my seat and do heel raises. Up and down on the balls of my feet, I take my court shoes off to do this. I was given this exercise as physio when I developed Achilles tendinitis in both my legs (go figure!) and I wasn’t even running at the time. I like this exercise it’s so easy to do and requires no special effort and it just makes the foot and leg structure stronger so that’s only a good thing! πŸ‘

This is a great idea for a thread by the way! Good call!

Heel raises are good for plantar fasciitis as well, and they're part of my foot rehab routine too. I guess they are really easy to squeeze in furing the day πŸ™‚
