Stand on a raised surface with your heels off of the surface. Raise up on the balls of your feet. Return to the starting position in a slow controlled motion. Repeat for 15 reps.
But DOESN'T that raising up and down work on the caf alone
No, it doesn't. I damaged my Achilles and was given this exercise to do to strengthen it (I could hardly walk downstairs, it was so bad). But I was advised on a flat surface. Once I managed to do the above exercise, I was given the same but on one leg only. The key is to lower SLOWLY and as its not a balance exercise, you can hold onto something.
