Hi everyone joined the group to find people that know what it is like to live with VVS. I am really struggling at the moment as feel very isolated due to not knowing anyone else with same illness.

I am so sorry. I read your post and thank goodness I do not have your problems. I can understand how you need to try to contact people who have your problem to see what they do. I just felt I needed to reach out to you and to give you a virtual hug. I can only feebly suggest that deep slow breathing might help a bit. It seems to calm things down. I wish you luck.

Thank you GrannyE. I really needed your lovely words. Just because you have coped with an illness for 35 years it doesn't seem to make you stronger but doubt yourself and you begin to loose confidence.

Never doubt yourself. Only you know what you are going through. Long term illness/pain is very debilitating and you are bound to have times when you are down.

Have you looked on the web? I am sure you have but there is quite a bit out there about diet and supplements that might just help. I have listened to webinars by the hour and found some of them very interesting and helpful although you must always be aware that many of them are trying to make you buy things so you must be wary.

I have looked up things and researched so much iv gone giddy. I would love to meet people face to face and have a good old fashioned chat with a coffee and a cake. I don't know anyone who lives near me neither does my GP and my hospital is in London which is not really near where I live

How are you now? Are you feeling a bit more up beat? I do hope so. If you are feeling rotten and down this is a great site to let it out. As you know it is good to talk and just facing what you are going through fairly and squarely by writing or talking about it does help.

Good luck

Hi

Yes Im fine thank you. I have a session of Reiki and it has really helped with the pain and I feel a lot happier in myself. I have another session next week. I have come off the pain killers with my doctors blessing to see if the therapy can help me.

How are you? are you ready for Christmas. I just about there iv been buying bits through the year so I don't have to cope with the busy shops at this time of year.

I am so pleased for you. Great. long may your improvement continue. I too buy things throughout the year but will deal with Christmas next week. At the moment I am preparing to chair our village Society AGM and have some of our committee members back afterwards together with our speaker tomorrow. I am always pleased to have that behind me. I have to pace myself which takes a lot of planning but getting there. A/fib at the moment of course.

I'm new to the group. Just joined today. I've had VVS/Reflex Syncope (Complex) since I was 12. I only have an episode about once a year or so, but I also have Sleep Syncope, meaning sometimes I faint while lying down. It's scary!

Hi

I only joined a little while ago. It is scary and also very lonely. I am the only one in my family that has VVS and I don't have anyone that understands what it is like. I am 48 years old and I started fainted at 13 years old. Some months a would not faint at all other weeks I could faint twice a week no warnings at all. I fainted for about 32 years before I even got a name for it and put on beta blockers now I don't faint.
