I have arthritis in my back and knees. My xrays of my knees show bone on bone. They gave me shots in both knees. They said that I have to have the shots until the shots quit working! Then and only then will they do surgery. Most days the pain is about a 3 but then once on awhile it amps up to a 6 or more. I walk my dog every day at the park so that helps. Some days it's hard to make it very far. I think my baby may have arthritis too because he doesn't like walking too far either. Lol. I should go to physical therapy but don't like spending the money.

Susanace1: Sorry to read of your difficulty....sounds like you are "in between" namely not bad enough for surgery right now but also not great with meds/shots. That is a tough place to be. Walking your dog every day is GREAT because even if you have knee replacement surgery (which you might need down the road) the stronger your muscles and the better the motion in your knee BEFORE surgery the easier the recovery. So I encourage you to keep moving! And if you are heavy, please know how important our weight is. For every 10 extra pounds of weight--that is 30-60 pounds of ADDED pressure on our knee joints. I am sure your dog loves the walks

Hello. My name is Nicki and I understand your pain exactly. I have had shots as well, many many shots. I have always felt that doing stretches sitting on floor and most of the ones I do are also yoga poses. Give it a try.
