The only thing I can think of it being is IBS. I don't suffer from it myself but a few famil members do. Speak to your GP because it could also point to an intolerancy to certain food types. That's how I figured out that for me it was lactose. Hope this helps a little bit.

Hi! Fruitpaste, do you have scleroderma? If you do it could be part of it. I have the oppposite problem, I am too constipated, but sometimes it changes its mind and goes on and on and my anus gets very sore. But these things are transient. It changes. I have developped a system however: If it's very bad I use Tena pants. Otherwise I use a panty liner and lots of toilet paper, so when I go to the toilet I throw the toilet paper in the toilet an put some more. If possible I always use wet wipes to wipe myself to prevent soreness. If the anus is sore I apply Anusol. Watch was you are eating it could be contributing. If you dont have scleroderma then you need to go to the GP to get it sorted.

I have the problem of constipation my GI has tried everything to help me go, now I just have to take laxatives to make it move and then I have bad diarrhea all that day. All the tests that he has done has shown that my colon does not work anymore. Very tired and scared of what will come next. Good luck and get a very good GI that's very important.

yes, and I also get severe stomach cramps tool. its awful, but I think it may be side effects from my medication, but not 100% sure. I'm at the very start of my illness so it could be it progressing. I've just bought a load of medicine to try out, including a bowel calm probiotic and ibs tablets so I hope they help. I also take kaolin and morphine as soon as I get the cramps, this helps a lot.

Sounds as if your overactive bowels could be Irritable Bowel Syndrome but could be due to any number of things. Have you seen your GP and had any tests done? This needs to be investigated to find out why you are having this problem. Until you have been diagnosed it will be hard to know what medication to take. Don't try to self diagnose, see your doctor asap, please.

This must be very distressing for you. I wish you well. Keep us informed of your progress. Be thinking of you.

See your GP and ask them to refer you to a gastrointestinal specialist.
