infusion of steroid and mycophenolate

hi I was recently diagnosed with localised scleroderma, was prescribed Tacrolimus ointment which didn’t prove successful. Rheumatologist has now said as everything is flaring up at moment they would like me to have infusion of methylprednisone steroids over 3 days attending as day patient. Then put me on mycophenolate. As I am type 2 diabetic am quite worried as to having the steroid as I’ve read it can shoot sugar levels up. Am also worried about side effects both of steroid and mycophenalate. Just wondered if anyone else is diabetic and has had on going through these treatments. It was all told to me over the phone and just said a Nurse would ring in due course, so it just leaves you worrying about it all.
