Hi everyone, I am 74 years old and was diagnosed with Reynauds at least 50 years ago.Recently, I have started to feel very poorly and now my fingers are extremely swollen and to get my usual rings on is impossible. My hands are reddish purple and blotchy and my fingers keep locking. I am wondering if this is how Scleroderma starts.
Thanks for advice, Jenny x

Hi Jenny, it sounds as though you need a face to face appointment with a GP to investigate things further. As well as a clinical examination, they should take some bloods for screening.
There are a range of conditions that could produce the symptoms you have described, which could include scleroderma, but might be something completely different and unrelated to your Raynauds.
I hope you manage to get some further investigations which may lead to a diagnosis for you.
