Hi there Kathleen Mary

Thanks so much for posting this, I found it on channel 5, series one episode 4, it features the wonderful Dr Ong at the Royal Free and Kevin Howell who is in charge of the ‘nail fold capillary testing’ which helps determine whether we have primary or secondary reynauds. I have diffuse systemic sclerosis and was diagnosed by the RF back in 2005 after a year or so of extreme reynauds attacks. It was interesting to watch, understandably it didn’t go in to a lot of detail about secondary reynauds as this would be a whole episode on its own I guess! So important to raise awareness though, as so many suffer on one level or another, and we can do things to help ourselves, and seek the professional help we need because it has such a low profile in the UK, I worry that it gets overlooked , and early treatment can change the outlook for us all

I’d love to see a documentary made on reynauds and scleroderma , it would really help sufferers to be better understood and it needs a higher profile

Thanks

Lindyanne

Thanks for that lindyanne,I look forward to watching it now know which programme it is My latest diagnosis is limited cutaneous scleroderma, with very troublesome Raynaud's

I like you, find that no one has heard of it . It was a lot easier when my diagnosis was Rheumatoid Arthritis all those years ago....that diagnosis changed to mixed connective tissue disorder and now scleroderma.

I recently took part in a research project on dental problems and scleroderma, being done by Hull Univ for SRUK and was reassured to hear that SRUK are keen to ensure that people are aware of this issue and that dentists ,as recently happened to me, assume, automatically that all dental disease issues are related to too much sugar in your diet

Anyway enough of my whingeing
